Obviously what matter is execution.

But if someone asked me, before I read or watched this series, "how would you feel about a character's hair turning blonde and him getting stronger because of it? Also, the transformation's name is Super Saiyan", I would of told him that sounds stupid as hell. But now it's just a normal part of our life, so nobody's gonna call that out because it's too memorable and iconic of a moment and transformation.

SSGSS may have a stupid marketing name, and it does, but the form is LITERALLY Super Saiyan, with blue hair. Why people keep thinking this is a new form is beyond me.

I agree that the concept of SSJ sounds ridiculous on paper, which is why I praise Toriyama even more for making it so cool.

SSGSS may technically be SSJ, but at the same time, it's also a new form since it requires an extra prerequisite to the regular SSJ transformation.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

The average person will think it's a new form because it has a NEW name, it's market as a new form, and a NEW form. And it's more than SSJ with Blue hair. It's SSJ with SSG influence. Ssj has no influence. And since it's fiction . They idea of SSJ sounds pretty awesome to me unless the design suck. Different standards for comics and anime.

http://www.dragonballz.com has updated. The entire website is now promoting Resurrection 'F' and I believe you can now buy tickets. The website looks really cool. Still no new trailer though :problem:

Be sure to continue checking http://www.reelanime.com.au for cinema listings and how long the film will be out for.

Only a mere 2 days from the US release! I fucking love you Madman Entertainment.
This is fantastic. :D Too bad it'll probably be at the Paramount again, in my city. :| Fingers crossed that they'll be doing posters again, just because I probably won't be picking up the Japanese release this time around...hmmm, maybe I'll still grab the standard release.

Do you know if your tickets were for dubbed or subbed screenings? Madman's said they were doing both, although the majority will obviously be the English version.

Definitely dubbed, given I live in America, lol.

I guess I posted at an odd time.

Seeing it a few days after my birthday, just like Battle of Gods last year.

Woops, always had the impression that you were an Australian member for some reason. Maybe I'm getting you mixed up with someone else. :P

Anyway, Madman's just dashed my hopes and dreams with one Facebook comment. Turns out there'll only be one subbed screening in NZ...which is not in my city. I knew it was too good to be true. I'd link the post, but I'm on my phone. Just check the Madman NZ Facebook page.

It's on at the Embassy though...AND IN 3D AS WELL?! That's slightly unexpected... :D Not that I care for 3D movies, but the Embassy is a great theatre. It's hosted a few major world premieres in its time.

Oh, cool! Madman are screening the film in 3D as well, this'll be interesting. I just checked http://www.hoyts.com.au and they've listed the film in both 2D and 3D. I'll definitely give the 3D version a shot when I watch the film a second time.

Update: To anyone who lives in Melbourne and wants to watch the film in Japanese with English subtitles, Cameo Cinemas are showing it - http://www.cameocinemas.com.au/Movie/Dr ... rrection-F
I've been there before and it's a fantastic cinema. Definitely one of the best in Melbourne.

Update #2: After doing some more research I've discovered on https://www.lunapalace.com.au/special-e ... rrection-f that the film will be out from August 6 to August 19!! (Although it's possible that it could only be that long at this particular theatre) That's 2 weeks! It's also longer than the North American release. Well done, Madman Entertainment. You have outdone yourselves.

I have a question about the movies:

- In BoG they use the Dragonballs to Goku and the others know how to "do" a Super Saiyan God and Shenron didn't say anything about a second wish or he just leave?

- In RoF they used the Dragonballs again to ressurrect Freeza, but since they usage in the last movie they shouldn't be like stone yet? I'm don't know If I confusing things, but I remember you can only the Dragonballs 1 after usage, is that right? And RoF is only 9 months after BoG

He just left.

If you don't use all of the wishes, the Dragon Balls can be used after 4 (?) months.

So, who told FUNimation that calling it the 'Immortal Saga' was a good idea?!
Source: http://dragonballz.com/exploretheuniverse/sagas

Baffling. The Dragon Ball 30th site calls it the "Gods of the Universe arc". Where did "Immortal" come from?

Hems made a pretty good post about it in this thread.
The DB 30 anniversary site's timeline uses the term "Gods of the Universe story arc" (宇宙の神々編). In that light, "Immortal Saga" sounds like a takeoff on that, with "Immortal" just being Funi's latest way to tiptoe around the word "God". Except they're not shy about calling Beerus "God of Destruction" right there under the Immortal Saga heading, and they also reference Super Saiyan God and the movie title "Battle of Gods" to boot, so...maybe they just genuinely didn't think "Gods Saga" sounded cool enough? It's a bit strange. Though frankly, "Gods of the Universe" is a bit of an odd choice for story arc title too. Neither really fits RoF very well, though I guess the Funi site doesn't explicitly place it under that heading the way the 30th anniversary site does. Well, whatever.
I have to say they both sound dumb, really. But I guess "Gods of the Universe arc" is significantly better.

I'm impressed. Chris Ayres sounds wonderful as always. Quite looking forward to hearing this!

Don't think Gohan's deeper voice works at all with the look he has in this film, but then I feel that way about his English voice in general.

Not sure how I feel about Sorbet's voice. Something seems off, but I may just be too used to the super deep voice he has in Japanese.

Everyone else sounds great. Be interesting to see what they change!

Funimation knows how to make a kickass trailer. lol.

I wish the movie itself had that sort of soundtrack and feel...

Didn't Tien say Tri beam in the trialer? I am pretty sure they used the original names in Kai for the attacks.

It's been a while since I watched Kai in English, but didn't they swap back to English terms at one point? Maybe that was just the TV version.

For Krillin it was interchangeable. One episode it's Destroucto Disk and the other it's Kiezen. For Ten..he never said Ki Blast Canon.
