Exactly. I'll rage if this gets delayed.
Not as much if they announce the 7th disc, but I shall still rage. One whole month because of an extra disc? What are you guys doing between now and November?

I've pre-ordered it and I still have yet to receive any sort of notice about any kind of delay.

As far as I can tell, I'm the only one that's in favor of the delay if it ends up happening, I'm biased with my lacking of funds at the moment, though I guess if I'll have some at the beginning of next month it won't really matter in that case anyway...
It would be cool to have it early, but if it's a quality issue then by all means I'm in agreement. If it's a delay just for the sake of delaying, well...that's kind of annoying. At the very least I'm looking toward the possible December 15th date and think of the Dragon Box as an excellent pre-Christmas thing to watch.

What if the delay was so Funimation could have more time to... ACCURATELY RE-DUB THE EPISODES! It would be a dream come true!

Agree'd. I'm suprised everyone's bitching so much, wern't we sending those "Up the DVD count!" e-mails not so long ago?

Does anyone know if they will just be copying and pasting the video and audio encodes, and just simply adding English subtitles and menus?
Reason I ask is because Japanese DVDs (and Blu-rays) usually have very high bitrate video encodes (and PCM audio often), would be a shame if Funimation did inferior video encodes to accommodate more dubs.
Additional wishful thinking is they will have the original mono as PCM instead of the Mono DD 2.0 @ 448kbps on the Japanese Dragon Boxes. 16-bit 1.0 PCM only takes up 768kbps, which is only 320kbps more than DD 2.0 @ 448kbps.
Even more wishful is that they would release it on Blu-ray

If a seventh disc is added for the sake of adding extras, and squeezing both dub tracks on there, than I'm in favor of the delay. I don't think this delay was for nothing.
Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

I'm pretty sure FUNi is doing their own encodes from the Dragon Box masters.

If you're interested, we went in-depth with comparisons and speculation on this very subject on

Hey gang!
Long time leerer and stalker, first time poster.
Just want to ask about shipments of these here sets to Canada. If anyone here is from Canada, how well do orders from Rightstuf of Amazon ship to your destination?

With this promotional sale the Dragonbox is at the low price of 47.99 with free shipping in the USA.

I guess I'll go cancel Amazon's pre-order now.

I thought that was standard "brick" price? At least it is at Wal-Mart.

Same here! That's a whole $8 less. And that extra $8 is going towards some more anime for me.

In a ditch somewhere

It appears Rightstuff have also fixed their listing about the so called "Dragonball Dragonbox" to
Dragon Ball Z.
