I like the added detail of the Blu-Rays, but the Dragon Boxes have spoiled me on their darker colors and dub title cards.

I own all of the series I care to own in a collector's edition format that looks great, and I'm really just going to leave it at that. This isn't an Orange Brick scenario, so if anything we should be happy their are multiple worthwhile ways to own the damn show.

Brilliant idea, but how does a Blu-Ray player handle sub-1080p video? It just upscales it like a DVD.

Just like Dragon Ball since Chapter #4.

I'm not so sure about Blu-ray players but on a Playstation 3 it upscales just like any other DVD. The last firmware update finally included upscaling for 480/576/720 material on Blu-ray & AVCHD, which is the other reason that made me think of this.

I could be wrong but I think it's just 480/576. The update specifically mentioned upscaling for 'SD' material. I haven't tried the one 720p release I have, but based on how Sony phrased it I wouldn't be surprised for it to not work.

It upscales 720p too, and even plays it at 1080/24p if the material is progressive, which makes it really good when watching 720p movies.

Why not just make compatible MP4 video files and play them from an external harddrive on the PS3?

Yeah, it just said SD, someone should test to see if it upscales 720p.

I'm really hoping they can get Vic Mignogna to come in and finish his lines as Butta.

They won't. The audio is the same as the season sets, just lossless.

Unless they had the option of including the Ultimate Uncut Namek dub on the Blu-Rays, which would be kinda cool though I doubt such a thing would even cross Funimation's mind.

I know a-lot of people don't care about these things. But I wish Funimation would've included this intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzyfR5CkVFQ
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Regardless, it would be cool if they included it as a special feature.

Yep, old news.

We'll probably see the 2 new trailers released sometime late this month.

It ends after Goku beats the crap out of Recoome, if I'm correct.

That's where FUNimation's Ocean cast dub ended. The Ultimate Uncut dub ended in the middle of the Goku vs. Butta and Jheese fight to transition cleanly into their season 3.

I saw the trailer for this on my Yu Yu Hakusho Blu-Ray. It looked phenomenal. I don't even know how they did it. Madness.
