If there's no breaks from here on, the Buu arc would start on Dec 3.

64, I believe. I just checked a calendar, so if my mathulations are correct and they consistently air one episode a week, they'll reach the end of Kai 1.0 on the last Saturday in November. Since they tend to take a break and show marathons/movies in December, I'm guessing Boo Kai won't come until Toonami starts back in early 2017. Fuck me.

Edit: Daisetsu did to me what the kids call a Ninja'd, right? I know, I should know this because I'm not all that old myself, but...

It could start earlier than November or December considering that they may have a marathon for the Cell Games like they did for the Freeza fight.

Toonami takes break during Holidays. So we will probably see marathons in May, July, September, November and December. I think the Buu saga will probably start in early December and probably end in 2017.

Hunter x Hunter could have done a bit better, but I hope word of mouth can help it. I would have watch it if my power didn't went out last week :x .

The ratings will definitely pick up later in the show. HxH kinda has a slow and weak start.

The ratings have been pretty consistent but I sure wish the numbers went up a little more!

A bit of a heads-up: Due to Dimension W ending on the 14th and a Samurai Champloo marathon playing on Memorial Day weekend, for one week only at least for now, Dragon Ball Z Kai will be airing TWO episodes on May 21st. This is presumably to fill the 12:30am slot so Dimension W's replacement can premiere after the marathon, and so the 8pm repeat slot won't be disrupted.
I also go by "veemonjosh".

Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans will be airing soon. Gundam and Dragon Ball on the same timeslot on Toonami during Midnight. Feels like 16 years ago!

Was always dumbstruck as to how OP blows everyone out of the water in Japan, and internationally it's even behind Naruto. I may be wrong, but I always felt Faulconer's music was a huge reason to DB's huge fanbase and status in English speaking countries. Obviously, it was famous in the US since Ocean's DUB but in a way, his over the top, almost blustering, rock-influenced music, completely "Americanized" the show.

American audiences hate the silence that the Japanese audience is comfortable with. To Americans it makes shows/movies boring and unwatchable, to the Japanese (and French too) it's maturity. I've watched a lot from both versions, and the "feel" is pretty different from the original Funi Dub and original Jap dub.

I, and a lot of One Piece fans, often blame the horrible treatment that 4Kids gave that show. The awful voice acting, terrible script and blatant editing and censoring, pretty much made One Piece dead on arrival, at least in the US. Naruto was a case of being at the right place, at the right time, and with a damn good English dub to go with it. That show pretty much hit the ground running, while One Piece crashed and burned. By the One Piece did eventually get a good dub, it was too little too late, the damage had been done. Not to mention that the Funimation dub are still several hundred episodes behind where the Japanese sub is currently at in the story. One Piece really got fucked over.

I absolutely agree with all of this. Especially in regards to how the show was basically Americanised. I mean, when you get lines like "Mondo cool" and "Krillin's in da house!", Goku being re-written into Superman-lite and Bulma sounding like a valley-girl, I think it's safe to say that liberties were take to the extreme for DBZ to appeal to the western fanbase. The soundtrack in the worst offender. It couldn't sound any less than what Dragon Ball (Z) is meant to represent. Faulconer's Z score at time sounded like what you would hear in a 80s Transformers cartoon. And it never knew when to shut the fuck up. I know there certain extenuating circumstances that lead to Faulconer's Z score being nearly constantly played, but there were so many moment sin the show that are just far more powerful, dramatic and poignant when you don't hear synthesized rock music blaring in the background.

I remember when Bulma called Vegeta "homeboy" post-Namek. He was like "home...what"?

I'm glad to see Hunter x Hunter doing so well, ratings-wise. Ideally, I would love to have seen it debut right after Dragon Ball Kai's timeslot, but it's still done pretty good so far, especially considering it had to maintain ratings momentum after an oddball show like Dimension W.

It probably goes without saying, but Toonami's lineup would probably look very bizarre to a Japanese anime fan.
Favorite Movies: Alien, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, The Thing, Evil Dead, The Land Before Time
Favorite Shows: Cardcaptor Sakura, Doctor Who, Wallace and Gromit, Wakfu, Yu Yu Hakusho
Favorite Manga: Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter x Hunter, Dragon Ball
Augenis wrote:The power level view into the series has trained a significant portion of the fan base into real life stereotypical members of the Freeza empire, where each and every individual is reduced to a floating number above their heads and any sudden changes to said number are met with shock and confusion.
