Beerus sent some "dinosaur with a nasty attitude to destroy Earth"? What?! Champa appears to be in sneak mode going to do something, while Beerus is distracted with the SSJG quest.

Hopefully it's Freeza plot.
Back, when we were still speculating about [F], I thought of different ways of Freeza to gain his power and one of them was him training with a God of Destruction from another universe. Even when Champa was first announced, I was speculating that maybe Champa would train Freeza to get back at Beerus for always annoying him, kinda like a more goofier version of Kame-sennin vs Tsuru-sennin.

Though I think it might be something completely different it's good to know, that he wasn't heading to Earth.
Also following up on TDC's comment about their attitudes, now that I've seen the translation it makes it even more jarring.
I'm Beerus, let's fight,
It's on the level of Abridged in that way.

I'm still trying to figure out who the heck Champa is. I was quite certain he was another God of Destruction from Universe 6, but this chapter somewhat implies otherwise. Then I began thinking that he may be Beerus' brother, but that doesn't explain the female Whis he has with him.

Maybe he is the God of Destruction from Universe 6 and he just came to Universe 7 and met Beerus and thus the two know each other. I don't know. *shrugs*

That's an interesting theory although, I find it hard to believe Freeza would accept training from anyone. The way Champa is represented here makes me think he might be weaker than Beerus. Unless he's afraid of Whis and not him.

Isn't there that scene from one of the previews for Super where it looks like Beerus is teasing Champa? Perhaps they're rivals in the same vein as Goku and Vegeta.

-Chapter 2-
So far, Toyble is a doing an awesome job. The only flaw is the cheap size. Other than that, couldn't aks for more.
SSj3 Goku vs Beerus is nothing special in BOG. This version is better. I like how Beerus was expecting Goku to be able to turn ssjg too.

I wasn't expecting Champa to appear so soon and I'm confused if he's from another universe or not.

I kinda forgot about this manga adaptation, so this was a good surprise this morning.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

funrush wrote:Perhaps Champa is the God of Creation? But if Beerus can hand the role of God of Destruction off to Goku so easily it's a weird coincidence that Champa and alt-Whis appear to be the same species as Beerus and Whis. Another idea, Champa could be stranded in this universe for whatever reason.
The Kaioushin are the "Gods of Creation" as they are the ones that provide the catalyst for planetary creation and growth.

Well, provided it's not a translation error, North Kaiou's statement actually leaves it open for there to be multiple Hakaishin within our universe, rather than just the sole Hakaishin setup mentioned in Battle of Gods. When he's exasperated about Beerus coming to his planet, he refers to Beerus as "the most powerful God of Destruction in the universe". Granted, this could simply mean that not all of the Hakaishin before him were as powerful, but it could also mean that there are multiple Hakaishin in the universe, and Beerus is simply the strongest of all of them.

As such, it's possible then that Champa is simply another Hakaishin of Universe 7, and simply not as strong as Beerus is.

True, but there's the continuous statements of Beerus being the God of Destruction of Universe 7. I would think that if there were more then they'd simply refer to him as one of the Gods of Destruction of Universe 7. Not to mention the Elder Kai refers to Beerus as THE God of Destruction in episode 2. I guess we'll find out soon.

Good chapter. Enjoyed Gokû and Kaio-sama's interactions. Needed desu (I love the desu scene in BOG.), but I understand the comic version of Super is cut for time.
On hiatus.

I think this was said in the movie as well.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

"Dinosaur guy with a bad attitude" seems like a reference to Godzilla, if nothing else.

Just read the chapter and it was pretty good. Beerus and Whis continue to be the stars of Dragon Ball Super in both the anime and manga.

The art in this chapter was noticeably better, too. I guess Toyble had more time for this one?
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Yeah, it was in the 30 second preview and just by that it seems like Champa is inferior to Beerus and is the one to start arguments or whatever and getting too easily annoyed at Beerus' dismissive attitude towards him.

I like that the manga chapter explicitly tells us that only Gods can sense Gods. Hopefully the anime can be just as direct.

Well this definitely changes things a lot more. It looked like Chanpa is also headed where Beerus plans to go, more and more I think its gonna be SSG Goku and Vegeta vs Beerus and Chanpa.
Also the art was very solid this chapter, Toyotarou did a good job, that ssj2 and 3 looked epic as fck.

I'm not so sure. Champa asks if Beerus has noticed them and Female Whis says she doesn't think so and that Beerus is heading somewhere else (Earth). Doesn't seem to make sense if Champa was also heading to Earth.

I understood it as him wanting to spy on Beerus and probably try and catch him off guard? since it also looked like he was in a rush, unless he plans to trash Beerus temple while he's out (this might actually happen) ah heck with it.

Aw... but having a tag team match seems a hell of a lot more interesting  its a long shot but I still hope it turns out as a tag match.

Also, was I the only one that thought femwhis was sort of... cute?
