Movie 13 is the only truly "great" movie with a good plot that I would recommend to a non-fan, although I think Movie 8 and 9 hold up decently well too.

The rest are essentially just 40 minute fights with little story and you have to be fans of the series to appreciate them.

Movie 2 disagrees with you ;)

Sorbet's laser scene definitely. Nothing wrong with it at all.

When I rewatch DBZ Movie 8 on Toonami, it didn't age very well to me. I saw the movie a few years before it dubbed in the US.

The fanbase overdramatic obession of age = physical appearence.

E.g : So Trunks & Goten are 10+ years old ( obviously not counting their appearence of ch 518-519) but still looks like 7 years old kids, lets b****! That's a plot hole, the character is ruined, more b****ing

Like come on, if Toriyama or Toei wants to draw someone of "x" age in "y" way, let it be, its they are style and artistic desition, just like any fiction writer uses artistic license for any of their creative s***. Just like we dont b*** about Toriyama drawing guys firing energy blast despite the laws of physics and thermodinamic stating that it would be impossible.

Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

I think it has less to do with their appearances and more to do with them still actually being kids. As in, personality-wise. Not to mention, I believe, Future Trunks in his special was the same age as Present Trunks is supposed to be now, so that just seems inconsistent.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Fukkatsu no F's quality, and Freeza in general.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

What artistic vision. They're stuck in potato bodies just for Buu saga nostalgia points and to push "cute kid fighters" merchandise. Gohan, Future Trunks (as in, the same character), Pan, Bra were all drawn by Toei and Toriyama as mid-sized when they reached tween/teen age group. Style and artistic direction needs to be cohesive and consistent

"Every character in DBZ fights the same"

I shake my head every time I see that line. That's not entirely true. You have Goku who's a smart martial artist, Piccolo and Gohan being strategists, Vegeta's style based on mostly rapid fire ki, 17's acrobatic skills, Frieza's elegant fighting style, Cell mostly using his fists, and I can go on and on. Now, did the some unique fighting styles started to die down, to a degree, yes. Yamcha and Tien in Z for example. What I hate the most is that they use the "they fight the same" excuse just to command the developers that 400 characters in a DBZ fighting game is mandatory.

Only I do those things, because people love me, and they despise you....derp!
