They could have just put "GT" on it instead of the full "Dragon Ball GT".

I will never understand FUNi for the life of me...How in gods name could they fuck up as back as putting Hercule on these sets? Their Z Sets all say "Mr. Satan". Uhg.

Oh yeah. FUNi's "hardcore" GT logo by itself would look so badass...I can see it now. :P

What happens anyway? Do they just re-dub just the word "Hercule", or do they re-dub the whole sentence?

EDIT: Damn you word filter!

Maybe they used the broadcast versions dialogue?

I just don't get it... Why is it rated TV-14 if they used the censored dialogue?

It isn't rated TV-14. That was just Wal-Mart being a bunch of fat pricks. :)

Although, anyone know any decent (read: cheap) places to get it for Europeans? Preferably somewhere UK-based, so import tax wouldn't rape me.
Well when I order them I usually just use playusa.com, free shipping. But recently they seem to not be getting all of the boxed sets, and GT season 1 isn't available for pre-order on there yet. I'll probably use Amazon for this release, I can't think of anywhere else that'll import to the UK.

I've ordered all my DBZ Season Sets from this guy off Ebay UK, his service and shipping are top-class. I also ordered my GT S1 off him. If you want anymore info, just PM me.

I have a question about the GT set. Are the logo's on the front and the spine also embossed like the Z sets? And is the box just as thick as the Z sets (although it has 5 discs)?

Man, a year from now and I'll hopefully have my DB DVD collection complete :D 2 Australian DB sets, a 3-disc DB movie set, Z season sets, Z Steelbook movie sets and the GT season sets :D Woohoo! :P

Wal-Mart's messed up on cover arts and descriptions for products before, so this is no surprise. But seriously, the rating IS TV-PG and you can say "Satan" and "Hell" in TV-PG programs. I really hope FUNi doesn't decide to use HFIL in the Super 17 arc, because that would be worse than the whole change Mr Satan thing. By the way, did FUNi add any swearing to this set?

Any proof that that they use the H word every time, because remember that in the dub his name is H...... Satan. Maybe a video will show up sometime.

The main thing that bothers me with having "Hercule" in the uncut dub is that now the uneducated are going to wonder why the hell the word "Satan" is popping up on every sign and billboard in the show. They're gonna start thinking the series is throwing out subliminal messages. I can see people throwing a fit over that.

Besides, don't the Z sets use "Mr. Satan" frequently? I know they don't call him that all the time, but you'd think if the most popular and most-likely-to-be-seen-by-soccer-moms show gets to keep the original name, why not the lesser known show? It makes no sense.

But I'm used to Hercule by now anyway, so this doesn't bother me at all, really. I already know the dub's not perfect. I'd prefer this over serious dialogue changes, even if we do lose a pun as a result...

Now if they really did use the television broadcast version, then that'll be extra bad. I can deal with Hercule, but I don't want no HFIL in my DragonBall.

So my final verdict is that I'll be getting these, but I'm keeping the discs I have for next episode preview access. The pros really do ourweigh the cons here, especially considering only two of the reported cons bother me to even the smallest degree.

Hey, wasn't the eyecatcher thing reported to have been like that on the previous discs too? Or did that get disproved?

Someone went back to the single to confirm it. They say Mr. Satan in the uncut dub on the singles.

That was me, yeah. I recorded a line from Episode 29; where Goku goes SSJ3, this sound clip's about 3 seconds. But it's all that's needed:

I was too lazy to rip the audio off my DVD, so I just used my Microphone for it.

Tsukento wrote:Here's that original instrumental + dub opening mix I promised.

Had to go ahead and actually use the second animation from later episodes rather than the first episodes it appears in. For whatever reason, the quality of the intro was horribly close to VHS quality in the late 20s and 30s compared to the 60s (I used episode 64's opening credits).
Thanks.

I love the new English version, its just that I miss the guitar bit at the very beginning of the Original.

In the English, it sounds like they either "weakened" it or removed it completely. It may have been just a small part, but it was a definining part of the original opening to me.
