Quick question for those that have seen the movie, including the pre-show - how exactly is the pre-show set up? Like, does it seem like something that will be pretty exclusive to the theatrical run, or do you think it'll wind up as an extra feature on the home release?

It could end up on home release. It is pretty much like Jeopardy!, where, even though there are no pauses, you still have time to give your answers to the questions. As for the staff thoughts, that is prime for home release.

The only question I got wrong was the last one. The one with how many planets Freeza owned. I said 103. Apparently the answer was like 79 even though I'm like pretty sure that answer is wrong. Since, you know, Freeza dominated the universe for who knows how long until Goku kicked his butt.

Freeza states that training could make his Battle Power 1.3 million. Referring to his first form. Some people took that the wrong way and assumed he was talking final form.

Eh, it's quite the claim to say, that Freeza was exclusively talking about his first form. He just says that he could reach a battle power of 1.3 million. If he could already accomplish that at that point, then the line is meaningless, unless we assume he is only talking about his first form.

Plus, even if his 1.3 million prediction was just for his 1st form (which is nonsensical; his 1st form is an artifical shell specifically created to suppress power, why would he want to make it stronger?), then that still means 1.3 million is considered SS2-tier in this movie. Since 1st form Freeza, after those 4 months (with no implication that Freeza misjudged), was considered so strong that he was in a "different league" compared to SS Gohan.

I personally like the movie as well and I like it almost as much as Battle of Gods. Jaco in the movie was great and I really hope that he has a bigger role in future Dragon Ball shows & movies. Freeza was great too and good to see him return not as a joke unlike in GT or Fusion Reborn. The animation was pretty solid expect for the CG and some scenes. Overall I would love to watch it again.

I don't see the big deal if Roshi is fighting Freeza's soldiers? The movie made both Roshi and Krillin relevant again in action. In DBZ movie 2, Roshi fought against the Bio Warriors and the three henchmen from Dr. Uiro. I'm pretty sure Dr. Uiro's men where stronger then Freeza's soldiers.

I went again earlier this evening in cosplay with another friend who cosplays Bardock. Another great crowd who really seemed to enjoy the movie. There was a great reaction from a person behind us in response to one of Vegeta's moments. Afterwards a woman and her husband chased us down to get a picture, haha. My buddy had more nitpicks about the movie than I did but still really enjoyed it. We both agree that Battle of Gods was better, though. In the end, we had a ton of fun and look forward to our final viewing on Saturday!

The scene is when Beerus interrupts Goku and Vegeta's training to ask what the gooey substance on his pizza is, to which Vegeta tells Beerus that it's cheese. It's not so much a weird pronunciation but a certain way of stressing the word, like he sounds annoyed that Beerus interrupted their training over something so stupid.

I still hate the rewind of time. Why not just have Goku kill Freeza after he blew up the Earth and use the Dragon Balls on Namek to wish back everyone ? It just came off cheap to me. It would have made the death of the Earth feel more serious if they didn't do that.

Honestly, and I HATE to say this but:
The plot, the popular villain coming back to life (and watch out because he's miraculously WAY stronger), the new Super Saiyan forms, and most certainly the total joke that any of these villains could be equals to the current level good guys...it all just seems like GT again. Not like the original GT, but a "what if we took the most terrible ideas we could think of, made a cash grab by bringing a popular villain back, and otherwise just ignored stated facts by the existing cannon, but it's ok because Akira Toriyama's name is on it" kind of GT.

I don't see how the movie is like GT? Freeza coming back stronger made more sense then #17 did. He is Goku's most famous enemy and is the most iconic villain in the franchise. He has a major impact in the DB universe since his empire rule over 70 planets, destroy two major planets and is the reason why Goku became so strong on how he is today. He still been reference after his death in the Cell saga, Buu saga, DBZ Movie 8, 2008 Jump Special and Battle of Gods. It was good to see Freeza make a return without turning him into a jobber like he was in GT.

I don't get why iconic characters like Batman, Godzilla, James Bond and Spider-Man are allow to fight their most famous enemies again, but it's wrong for Goku to fight his famous enemies again ?

Why do people keep saying "No implication that he misjudged"?

I mean...

1) The very fact that we know for a fact that 1.3 million is nothing compared to gohan... That ALONE is cause to believe he misjudged...

2) Frieza himself says that he surpassed his own expectations and surprised himself... I mean... Do you REALLY believe that he KNEW he'd achieve a new form and guessed exactly how powerful that new form would be, as well as later LIE about being shocked by his own gains??? WHY?

Sounds to me like people see the opportunity to say something contrary and unconventional and just demand people accept it as fact, simply to gain attention...

Hahaha! I loved Vegeta's pronunciation of 'cheese'! My friend who watched the movie with told me with confidence that it would become the next "over 9000!" when we watched it on the big screen.

The whole audience except for me and Bruce burst out laughing at that. I mean, spamming it in a video would be funny in theory if Over9000 logic is in place, but it wasn't that funny to the point where we should have been able to hear what the line after it was. (I'm serious, I have no idea what the next line was)
