At least 4 characters will lose, isn't this a Baba-styled tournament?

I thought they did? Piccolo in GT mention that they would longer be used once he dies. Piccolo and Kami becoming one again is why the Black Star Dragon Balls are now able to be used again.

They don't turn to stone after the wishes, is what he meant.

He also took them off in the Crossover Special with One Piece & Toriko.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

This. Presumably all Dragon Balls will turn to stone under some circumstance though: their creator dies, their dragon is killed, etc. Though it's all a lot of assumptions for the Super Dragon Balls right now.

The problem with Buu being replaced after the written test is that the tournament is about to start, so the other fighters there (Kuririn, Tenshinhan, etc) didn't have time to train and prepare for this. At this point, i'd rather get Buu, as we shouldn't expect too much from the others.

We know the Super DBs are said to scatter, but the turning to stone part isn't mentioned. Champa has been destroying planets trying to find them though. I wonder if they might go inert and grow a "planet shell" or something to disguise themselves?
I don't think they do. In the summary there's a part about the stars inside, looking that way from any angle. I would assume the function is to trick who looks at it from afar. Even mentioning how it was a patent. That's useless information, if not for this purpose.

But no matter how they look at it, the "stars" of Dragon Balls are never going to actually look like real stars. To me, that just feels like extra background info to explain why no matter how characters held the orbs, the shapes were always stars.

That's true. But they might look different when in the middle of space. I just find that tidbit weird, if it's just what you said.

I really do like U6 Freeza's design and I think the lack of lipstick helps. It's such a minor detail, that it's first now I have noticed it, but I knew something was wrong, because it just seemed different from Freeza's first form, even though I couldn't put my finger on why that was, when they looked so similar.

Toriyama obviously stole my Xenoverse Freeza character without telling me. What part of "Original the character DO NOT STEAL" did he not get . Just gonna put this here in case some people can't tell I'm joking.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Those are the new "jokes". Now that Xenoverse and Heroes custom characters are famous, anytime people don't like a new character design will say that.
I already heard a lot "Toriyama stole it from Xenoverse/Heroes" for Champa's team. Seems like Toriyama now rip offs his own style.

Its a shame Great Saiyaman didn't debut in 2015.

He's at a conference about nutrition, in order to realize how he lost all his muscles. Everything will be fine.

I'd be happy for the tournament to have a female mutant or Freeza race member. It just feels out of place in 2015 to have no female characters at all in the tournament.

Even the DB and Z tournaments had Ranfan, Chi-Chi, Videl, and Pan.
Thats why I like Toriyama, he doesn't give a .... about love and girls. Just Goku and the LOVE to fight strong characters.

What in the world does a strong, female character have to do with "love"??

In our current world of weak princesses and superficial Barbie dolls, I think it'd be amazing for there to be a proper female character in a show like Super, to give the little kids something better to look up to. I used to think Videl was a fantastic addition back then, but now she's just another useless filler character with no role other than 'nice, obedient kitchen wife'. Shame.

This is a tournament for aliens, why does it matter if there aren't any females? If they said the Pooh Bear was female would it make a difference?

We have Vados in the series anyway.
