I wonder why both Toonami Asia and Funimation decided to dub this funimation scene.

I think this was done for the sake of test footage. Like a glorified teaser of advertisement of the show's English dub cast that doesn't give away too much of the plot, while also working as a convenient way to sell the show to English speaking audiences.

Super Saiyan God was the most contrived shit bull shit in all of dragonball. Holding hands and gaining a huge powerup will never be okay to me. As much shit as they get, it's much worse than Vegeta and Gohan's. Gohan's power boost wasn't as huge and wasn't instantaneous either. Vegeta trained for months with an angel who trains gods himself so of course he would get much stronger. So after that? I'm willing to accept a random powerup for humans and namekians. Not that it'll ever happen though.

It was Probably just Toei telling them they were allowed to preview that scene in particular for some reason
Only reason I can think of that both dubs would preview this exact one

Either that or it's Funimation's way of saying "Now that's how it's done!".

FUNi reveal dub cast for reprising roles. They kept Doc Morgan as narrator! Was the only thing I was worried about in terms of the casting. Also Kid Trunks has a new VA. Alexis Tipton.

She filled in for Laura Bailey with Gotenks in Xenoverse 1 and 2 so I could see it coming. I guess this means Laura Bailey won't work on Dragon Ball anymore despite other LA actors like Sean and Kyle returning. Maybe they're fast tracking production on it and she can't squeeze it into her schedule but then again, Trunks was the only thing she was doing for FUNi so now that she's not in Super I guess she's no longer reprising her role as him. Very glad that they kept Doc Morgan, he's an awesome narrator who I loved in Kai.

Yeah given how tiny his role has been so far probably wise to recast him if she was too busy and couldn't make it.

I knew it. She became too demanded for voice work, and to prevent her from overworking and doing potential harm to health, she bowed out as Kid Trunks. That's a shame, but it's for the best. Alexis Tipton is a fine replacement.

At least we'll always have that Battle of Gods performance, and there's always the chance for her to reprise if she finds time

Same way they Handled Other world

You can reference Hell without straight out saying it

Kai handled it by referring to it as "Down Below" and "Where the bad people go" as I recall

And they always kinda avoided flat out saying a character died by referring to it as being either Destroyed or Defeated

And as for Gods, there's always the option to refer to them as Kami, which while a little confusing gets the job done

Honestly, I won't mind it at all if they do have to use that dub knowing the DVDs and Blurays will be uncut
And if they don't make the mistake Kai's Home release advertizements did of using TV dub dialogue, there won't be major backlash either
