How well do you all think this will sell ?


Probably not very well, years of mediocre to crappy games that have all been pretty much all the same thing over and over have made people lose most of their interest.

This one might sell better than the couple because it looks a bit different so might get a sequel but I doubt it'd even outsell Raging Blast.

Does the Burter clone have ears? Or the pink-rubber scales Piccolo has? I dunno ... You guys are right about 'Guldo' being a Majin, though.

And yeah, Frieza is an NPC.

Is there anything to suggest that Xenoverse isn't just an adaptation of DBO as a console fighting game? Because that's exactly what it looks like to me in a lot of ways.

And does anyone have any idea who this silhouetted guy is that looks like Whis.

They are using the same general story, but not literally just applying the already scripted narrative to Xenoverse. There are more than a few differences so far:
--Toki-Toki City, the game's hub, didn't exist. DBO had Trunks' headquarters as West City and the TMQs spread out across the DB map.
--The Parts of DB history that they are showing Towa and Mira changing weren't things that were changed in DBO.
--So far, it doesn't look like Towa and Miira have an entire army of various aliens to do their bidding like in DBO.
--The DBO player got sucked into a time rift and Trunks saved them from the Time Breakers. In Xeno, the player is summoned to him by Dragon Balls.

Nope, not a clue. Not someone we've seen previously.

This is exciting to think of all the moments where things could be deviated from the original and requiring us to fix it.
Prepare to see characters usually having their invincible upper-hand moment being completely shocked when the opponent suddenly becomes even stronger than they are.

Goku will say he's a Super Saiyan and Freezer will suddenly put him to the ground and say "so what?"
Vegeta will act like a smartass against C-19, only to be suddenly powerless and beaten to a pulp.
Vegetto will play with Boo until suddenly he's nothing compared to Boo and gets his face and body covered in blood.

Maybe more than bad guys will be possessed like this, like the shot with Mister Satan beating Goku seems to imply: what if Mister Satan got possessed to defeat everyone including Cell? What greater paradox than Mister Satan defeating Cell for real with raw power? We'll have to prevent this.
Maybe unplayable characters will be possessed as well: what if Babidi had a power boost that did allow him to mind-control Vegeta and effectively make Vegeta want to kill Kaio Shin instead of being able to resist Babidi's commands?

It's also possible that good guys themselves could be possessed as it would possibly break the timeline the same way and have the same catastrophic consequences: what if during the first Goku-Vegeta fight, Goku was possessed into letting Vegeta being finished off, or killing him himself?

So guys, just spend the remaining months thinking of the hundreds of possibilties that could alter history by possessing any character at the various moments of the story and making them do this or that with a huge power boost.

If they market it right no one will care about those games,Look at all the crappy Batman games that came out before Asylum but thanks to it's marketing and word of mouth from both players and critics it managed to get great sales.

All this is cool. Endless possibilities. I still think they could do something about all those broad lines in the character models, I guess they didn't want to do a Burst Limit where you can't really see edges.

I'm still to the whole PS4 thing. If I get the PS3 version, is there a way to do a digital upgrade to PS4 like with Assassin's Creed?

If Bandai allow it then yes but i doubt it.

The thing I'm disliking so far about Xenoverse is the animation style. The characters look nothing like Toriyama's style like other DB games did well.

I don't about "animation style". But we've only really seen angry, injured or static facial expressions. Not a single smile or happy face has been shown yet. (I think there's one, but the eyes don't really sell it).

Not to be rude, but where was this taken from.. YouTube? They look like shit so it would've been better if the screenshots were downsized to a small resolution to make them more appealing to the eye.

Still, it's good that they've revealed it'll be coming early 2015 but undecided if I should pre-order it or not as I haven't tried it out nor see the incentive or pros/cons from PS3 Vs. PS4 version (exclusive content on PS4?).

If the only difference between 360/PS3 Vs. PS4/XO are the graphics then that's fine, I'll stick to the last-gen then.

Where else would a video be shown on? Even though it was in HD there was a great deal of microblocking since the video has a lot of motion. I just used imgur to keep them from compressing even further.

The trailer title says it's a 60sec ver. So will there be a full trailer later?

It's probably the opposite of that. Japan seems to usually have trailers like this that come in the 15, 30 or 60 second varieties from what I've seen. So it may be that there is a shorter version that we haven't seen (maybe for advertising on the show floor).

Aren't those usually for commercials? Full trailers, especially TGS trailers, are at least 3 minutes long. The game is coming out early 2015, so there shouldn't be a reason to have such short trailers/teasers by now.

This, characters like Raditz don't even have the right style of eyes. Everyone just looks too samey or bad (like Krillin), which kinda happened in Burst Limit as well but was never a problem in Budokai 1-IW. The textures and lighting however look so good, loving it.

Anyway I'M SO HYPED thanks to this new batch of info and some new gameplay videos. Gameplay while clrealy WIP (dropped combos all over the place, some animations seem iffy) shows a ton of potential, the Goku vs Vegeta in particular show lots of cool stuff, the pursuits seem fast, special attacks are incorporated into combos/grabs for added touch of personality instead of being a lame rush attack and the "shift" mechanic gives me hopes for more than the usual number of attack that we have seen in DIMPS games.

Also, I really hope the only difference between PS3-PS4 is only the graphics, I don't want people to stick with an inferior version content/features wise just because they don't have a next-gen system yet (which i'll probably be one of those people).

I'm just going off my experience with old Heroes videos, where CMs and PVs came in more varieties. Though, now all their PVs are either like 1 minute or 3 minutes, and the Xenoverse trailer is labeled as a PV too. So maybe...

I don't want to get my hopes up though.

This is debatable. Yes, Raditz doesn't have the same style of eyes as he had in the series, but there is nothing wrong with them unifying the art style between characters. He just got the Piccolo and Vegeta treatment,
