It's not the same. Penguin Village, Arale and the other characters are part of the Dragon World, a consistent part, as much as Hatchan or Snow. And they appeared in history with an important role (defeating Blue)...more than thirty years ago. Arale and the others are characters in Dragon Ball.

That's cool.

I was answering the question about the DragonBallx One piece X Toriko cross over special and if it was official or fan made.

At least I think that's what the question was about. I'm not super sure anymore.
Ah, OK. I just wanted that we could see the difference between one thing and the other ^^

The crossover DB X OP X Toriko is an official product, but not canonical in the Dragon World. It's like most of the films. A story with nothing to do with the canonical plot of Dragon Ball.

Dude, I think you're taking this a BIT TOO seriously. This is just supposed to be a simple crossover with Dr. Slump that's being given more attention, due to this being the second crossover the two series had in years. Having character designs be a certain way because of how much time has passed shouldn't really be that big a deal in this case. This is the kind of episode where you're just supposed have fun with everything that happens, and not worry about ANYTHING ELSE.

Meanwhile if anyone needs me, I'll be over there riding the DBS EP. 69 Hype Train.

It's because Toei Animation presented this chapter like the continuation of Goku and Arale first meeting, the reunion of Goku and Arale, etc. How can we ignore that more than thirty years have passed between a moment and another? It is absurd that Toei intends to mention the first meeting and show us that no one from Penguin Village has grown up. In the first meeting everything was consistent, the characters of Dr. Slump had evolved from their history in a normal way, had grown, and continued their life where it had remained. Why should we now accept that Toei is not careful with this kind of details? A baby has not grown in thirty years and we have to accept it because this is a simple homage. OK, this is a simple homage, but it is also one of the biggest inconsistencies in Dragon Ball.

It is as if Snow or Upa are reunited with Goku in this moment and they continue being children.

Well...hair-gelled Gokuu...okay, I dig it. Never really found him hot before, but this is  Honestly thought it was Gohan at first glance, with how well put together he looks.

My immediate reaction to Vegeta's suit while watching the preview was that it didn't look good on him...the still image looks okay, but in motion it looked too loose on him. A different color would've been better, I think, but then again, we always see him in blue, and black or gray seem like kind of boring choices too, so I guess the maroon color is acceptable just for being different. But like a pinstripe suit or something would've been soooo hot

I'm on HECTOR4's side when it comes to the Dr. Slump cast somehow not aging thing.
They still aged during the four years the manga took place, it's especialy evident in the last couple of volumes in the manga, where Akane, Taro, and Tsukutsun's bodies grew bigger (around the same size as Bulma and Yamcha's in the Pilaf and Red Ribbon Army sagas)

I think unless they travelled thirty years into the future that they shouldn't be as young as they are in this episode.
I think Toei only made them this young for fanservice unless time travel was indeed revealed to be involved.

I would be impressed if a fan produced that! It was official.

I remember Ace Attorney. I enjoyed those games, but I haven't really thought about that franchise in several years."
For Japan, Turnabout Trial's first three games were released between 2001-2004. It would be implemented in the manga's Kanzenban release during that period. (Alternatively, the Japanese and international Nintendo DS re-releases arrived years before the Jump Special Anime Tour animation aired, if I'm recalling my years right) I don't think it's particularly a nod towards the series, unless it's for the anime adaption. But it is a Dr. Slump event, so I'd imagine they wouldn't want the audience's attention elsewhere. I think people are just having fun with comparisons rather than it actually being references to lawyers. :)

So the Hit stuff isn't just for a one off episode. Feeling more and more like it will be a full anime only arc that buys more time for the production of the next Toriyama arc.
I hope it's at least 7 or so episodes and not just 3 like Copy Vegeta.

Well, the Ace Attourney anime did only come out last year and is getting a dub soon along with the 6th game coming out a few months back.

They probably kept the Dr.Slump cast young because those are the most iconic designs. Kids watching now might not recognize an older cast as well as the ones from before.

I honestly can't wait for the next 3 episodes. These filler episodes are going to be top notch.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Voicing Goku alone, with his energetic way, the battle screams and all, must be more work for Ms. Nozawa these days than we think...let alone voicing 4 characters in the same arc.
I wonder if they'd be willing to recast Goten and maybe even Gohan to lessen the strain on Nozawa, if that is really an issue and it's not just her wanting a quick breather from doing multiple characters before the next arc.
They really should recast them. I respect her effort and get legacy, but if this is affecting things in-universe..
