The releases for Germany, France, Spain, Japan and Mexico (etc) have the Funimation dub on them...?SSJ2bardock wrote:In this case that doesn't hold true, since the dub track is on most of the releases worldwide.
Odd, because according to this topic only some of the english releases have it:
http://db.schuby.org/daizex/viewtopic.p ... 61&start=0
I think he's talking about the video games, in which case there's usually a single version of the game made for Europe as a whole, this one version including an English voice track for that one country where people would actually give two shits about it. The English track already exists, so why not?
The fact that it's there doesn't mean people listen to it, of course.
While the American release of the game is largely, though not exclusively, aimed at fans of "the English dub of Dragonball", the European release logically enough isn't - no one really cares about locals dubs of foreign series outside that place it actually airs. Thus, European-released Dragonball games are either in Japanese only, or bilingual if the American release was. The exception is the PS2 release of Budokai 2 and 3, which were Funi-dub only due to Sony not wanting games with only Japanese voice tracks to be released. Nintendo had no such problem, so the GC release of Budokai 2 was in Japanese, and Sony eventually shaped up, so we got Super DBZ with Japanese voices.

It really should take only 7 Battles? Team Battle is he easiest way to get Dragonballs, Just beat the record and unlock Dragonball Battle.Supa Saiya-Jin Tullece wrote:Finally got all of the DragonBalls.
Holy shit, I laughed looking up what one of the items does.
I was all in for Goku's Meteor Blast, but I saw an item called "Seal Breaker." It sounded pretty cool, but the only description it had was "Equip this and something may happen."

I love how Tenshinhans Signature attack actually nullifies Beam Attacks. Not 100% about ultimate blasts though?

If not for online play and in-game transformations, I would say this game doesn't even touch the first Sparking. I'd just buy Meteor for cheap if you find it (preferably for Wii) if you want a new Sparking-styled experience.B wrote:Gotta ask, sicne we've got so many Tenkaichi 3 comparisons.
Is RB a step-up from Sparking! NEO? I never bothered to get METEOR.

No. Besides basic basic melee attack variations (upper kick instead of stomach punch finish on a simple Rush Attack), there are only 2 combos and that is Smash Attack High-Aerial Combo-Pursuit Attack 2 and Smash Attack Low-Knockback Technique.B wrote:Gotta ask, sicne we've got so many Tenkaichi 3 comparisons.

What were they thinking??? The gameplay is so shallow.

Is there any hope for a camera patch? I mean, to be honest if it wasn't for the damn camera, this game would have been better than BT3(In my eyes at least). Both audio tracks are good, the levels are huge, the character models are nice(not Burst Limit good but nice none the less), the customization is the best I've seen, the online is good(I had an easier time finding matches than I did with Street Fighter) and I LOVE the what if stories. Seriously though, if they didn't drop the ball with the camera then this game would have been so great.
Thankfully I rented the game, but I think I might get it come Christmas time(personal tradition). Hopefully Namco-Bandai will fix some of the problems by then.

Wow. I just had to freaking Ragequit.
Why is there no indication of how many fighters your opponent has in a team match, or who they are?
I used Goku and Vegeta against SSJ2 Gohan, SSJ Trunks (Sword), Kid Buu, SSJ3 Vegeta, and SSJ3 Broly.
The douchebaggery was off the charts.
EDIT: And again. It was me with SSJ Goku, Vegeta, Majin Vegeta, Bardock, and Ginyu vs LSSJ Broly, Super Vegito, Gogeta, Gohan Buu, and SSJ Trunks (Fighting).
Maybe I should just use the cheap characters that can spam rush attacks and guard breaks that start with four health bars and do double the damage of any other character. Fuck sportsmanship.

Ryusuke from Toon Zone has confirmed a few new recasts for the dub. Specifically, Todd Haberkorn (D. Gray-Man's Allen Walker, Claymore's Raki) voices #19, Travis Willingham gets himself a Dragon Ball role as Cell (he was a big fan in college), and Mike McFarland takes Chris Forbes place as Dodoria.

Bill Townsley subbed for Duncan Brannan as Babidi

Travis Willingham officially replaces Dameon Clarke as Cell
Mike McFarland subbed for Chris Forbes as Dodoria

I personally think Mike Mcfarland did a wonderful job as Dodoria. It would be interesting to see Mike voice him in the dub of Kai whenever we get around to it. I'm not entirely sold on Travis' Cell though. He's a wonderful actor but I'm just not 100% behind this yet. However I'm sure I will be by the time the next game comes around.
Yeah, I really wish he'd had done his own thing with Cell, but alas...Ichigo Storm wrote:I personally think Mike Mcfarland did a wonderful job as Dodoria. Mike was great as Dodoria! As for Travis, he was good, but Damion is better. Not to say Travis did a bad job, he actually did a great job matching Damion's voice but like Yuugi said, It would have been interesting to hear him do his own thing.Ichigo Storm wrote:I personally think Mike Mcfarland did a wonderful job as Dodoria. Hmm... not a dead-on imitation, but Mr. Willingham does pretty good as Perfect Cell! Not sure if I'm keen on the other forms.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
