Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

Trust me, I'm not expecting any power ups. They love to tease us with memorable characters returning only to be taken away and setup for Goku and Vegeta to shine. This is what happened in the Champa Arc. I'm not expecting any different.
I am kind of thinking this might be the multiverse tournament arc, but in a very different way. Ever since that was mentioned, I've wondered how a 12-Universe tournament could possibly work. The number of contestants grows very quickly with the team size, and without some sort of preliminary round the numbers are awkward for the usual elimination style tournament. I think it's going to be more like a 12-universe Hunger Games than anything, hence the name "Universe Survival". This is all a game to entertain Zeno, and it'll be something more zany than just a long sequence of one-on-one martial arts matches.
Wishful thinking here, but perhaps Goten and Trunks aren't pictured, while Ten and Roshi are, because we're getting a timeskip but they're keeping that part a surprise for now. The adult characters won't change much, except Bulma (not pictured) will get a new hairstyle as per tradition, but Goten, Trunks, Pan, Marron (and Bra!?) will get new designs.

If this is the tournament then Toriyama just creates 10 different characters with all Gods of destruction and all other attendants for every universe now in this arc? .-.

Well if they pull a universe 6 tournament and completely fuck over every other character I'll be pissed.

Kuririn and Tenshinhan do get wrinkles by EoZ
Considering Toriyama has talked about how he often doesn't like his characters getting old, I could see him just designing them young this time around. Not saying there IS a timeskip though. I'm kinda worried that'll NEVER happen.
EDIT: Wait! There's been several timeskips in Super!

Certainly. While I'm sure Piccolo will shine because of his pathetic "role" in the Gods Tournament, Gohan will be the one fulfilling Piccolo's pathetic role of the said saga, as we all know that someone needs to go before even getting a chance to fight. Gohan is perfect for this.

They can't possibly fuck up every other character, that would be really illogical and extremely stupid decision..
As for them getting a power up, they will train is what I believe, no major power ups, but training for the match is definitely going to be there..( if it is indeed a match )
It has been tradition till now
The Lord moves in mysterious ways but you don't have to. Please use your blinker
Any ideas as to why #17 returns after years gone? If this is indeed for the tournament, the only thing I came up with is that they need to fill their quota of fighters. But then I see Master Roshi in the image...
We really need more information. Three or four days of wait if there's no more leaks.

Lol Gohan fans would riot. They would be writing essays in Caps Lock displaying their frustration everywhere. Would be priceless, but would also be cruel.

Yeah I mean if they manage to screw over every single one of these characters, that'd be quite a feat. So yeah, at least one of them should get their moment without getting Piccolo'd. Possibly 17 as they are bringing him back after such a long time. I hope we get to see or at least hear about his family since Toriyama has said he does in fact have a family of his own now.
I'd like to see a Hunger Games-style Dragon Ball arc, even just to do something new.
Also hoping Buu will get time to shine this time rather than just taking another nap.
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula

Disclaimer: I might get into a disagreement with you. Sometimes I might even get feisty about it. I'll never harbor negative feelings because of it though. I hope you feel the same way!
I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
I didn't care for Super rehashing the BOG or ROF movies into the show, disappointed in the universe 6 vs. 7 tournament, and the Black arc. And yet here I am like an all day sucker hyped to see 17 and Gohan being back into the mix. You win Toriyama.
