I wouldn't be too surprised (disappointed for you guys, yes, but not surprised) if these were just Region One releases, though. If they were also for Region 2, it would be far to easy for Japanese fans to import the DragonBox from the United States (in a very odd twist of irony, I suppose).

I mean, I could see Toei throwing that restriction on FUNi when they acquired the footage, but, at the same time, now that Kai is out, maybe they aren't as concerned about the original.

But, hey, they also took down that slew of videos off of YouTube, so, who knows?

I'm really hoping that you guys outside of Region One don't get screwed over, though.

85 days as of today... If there won't be any delays...

85 days... and the moment of truth will be revieled

Will I and the rest of Region 2 fans cry happy tears :D ...? Or cry sad tears  ...?

I have a very important question about the Dragon Box release.
Will it be for regions 1, 2 & 4 like you always do with Dragon Ball releases? Or you’ll make it region 1 only?

Please leave it 1, 2 & 4. I live in a region 2 country, and I don’t want to be left out of fandom joy because of the region coding.
And I got this response:
It proboaly will be as that is how they all ways do it. And i know a lot of people importing it from region 2. But there is always just buying the dvd and watching it on a laptop or computer.
Well, it doesn't answer anything... but this guy said that a lot of people from R2 countries do import FUNimation's releases.

So, maybe we got a chance... I mean, this is FUNimation's ultimate release for real! I don't think they are stupid enough to limit it to America only.
Simple Solution: Buy a region free DVD player! Or unlock your current DVD player. I did it for my R2 Dbox singles and the Australian Dragon Ball boxsets, and it works perfectly.

I'm paraphrasing from godofchaos on the chatroom here, Toei consider Kai the replacement for DBZ.

The only concern they have about it is people pirating it so I don't see why they'd be mad at people buying the show at all.

Well, because they'd rather have Japanese fans buy their more expensive domestic release? I'm assuming Toei likes money... Though most Japanese fans who care to buy the footage probably already have.

I totally agree with you (er, godofchaos) about Kai- I probably could have expressed that thought a little clearer, though. I think that's (Kai's existence) is why they finally let FUNi have the DragonBox footage.

Wait... The Double Feature sets were also region locked, right?

And Amazon is saying the same is true for Dragon Ball Season One.

Maybe it's just something FUNi is doing now? Granted, that Amazon listing could be wrong, but, all the same, it's worth considering.

YES. Thank God I got my pre-order in before Amazon jacked up the price. For once, I'm in on the ground floor. It'll be interesting to see if either $71.99 or the original $55.99 will be the price at retail stores like Best Buy.

Amazon raises and lowers their prices all the time. It must have something to do with supply and demand. People were probably pre-ordering the thing like crazy so they decided to hike the price. It could yet go down, but it sounds like you'd be getting a slightly better deal at RightStuf anyway.

Yeah I really wanted to pre-order with Amazon, then the price went up.:( It doesn’t really matter now because I’m going to pre-order with Rightstuf which works out cheaper than Amazon. :D

Just preordered dragonball season 1 and 2 plus the dragonbox from rightstuf. Only $116 for all 3, that includes shipping. a lot less than I thought I was going to spend on Dragonball this year.

Now I know this has been asked before but will they ship everything out together or will I get db season 1 then db season 2 and the dbox later?

Well I just placed my preorder for the DragonBox off of RightStuf. It's the first time I've ordered off their site. This DragonBox better not flop cause of FUNimation. :x

$48 is not bad. I hope RightStuf could do this for every DragonBox release coming soon.

I know Amazon has shipping options that allow you to group them together or have them shipped separately before confirming the order. Did Rightstuf offer anything like that or did you just click right through using the default options?

Hi there,

I really wanna get the Dragonbox but have never shipped international before and hope people would help me with this.

People outside US who have shipped stuff from RightStuff do help to answer my questions.

Do the DVD box set come in good conditions (tears, dents, scratches?)?
Is the DVD box set bubble-wrapped and place in a shipping box?
Is the DVD box set "held" in the shipping box? or is it simply being place inside the box with nothing to hold in it position?

Pardon for the silly questions! Thanks in advance!

Cheers.

I made the same exact order just last night, except my total was 114 because I chose priority mail (Just my preference over UPS).

My assumption would be that they would ship them out as they come in. At least I hope so. It would be stupid to have to wait till the last item comes out before they ship it.

I called and asked. They said as long as you didn't use ups ground it will ship when they come in(so you would have had to picked the other two shipping options). If you did pick ups ground like I did... you can call and they can change it for you.

I haven't had an international Shipment from them, but I've bought Every single One Piece DVD from them, and I wouldn't imagine the shipping was quite different. I'll see if I can answer your questions at least in part!

1: I've never had any damage to any sets coming from Right Stuff, they're always in perfect condition when they arrive, and I've ordered a LOT from them. 6 One Piece DVD sets, The One Piece Movie, Hellsing IV, Both seasons of the GetBackers, etc.
2: It's Held inside the Box with Cardboard around it to keep it from rattling around. IE, it's got Cardboard holding it in place inside the bigger Cardboard Box.

I don't think we've received any specific word yet on the subject. Somebody sent off a message to what I believe what the FUNimation blog, but the response was very vague and didn't have any particular confirmation either way.
