I'm 100% sure that it will take place after F because Characters are getting new outfits, Bejita and Goku have a new master, Beerus explaining about the 12 universes, new transformations and more. All the new stuff was building up to Super. It doesnt make much sense if it starts after EOZ or right after Buu.

I think those stuff could still happen after DBZ as well since things where left off with Goku and Uub. Goku can have Whis help train Uub to become even stronger.

If it happens right after Resurrection 'F' (which is not confirmed yet), then I would not expect any change for Goten and Trunks.
Mai hasn't changed at all between the two movies, so my guess is that neither has Trunks and neither has Goten.
And if it happens right after the movie, then again, no change at all.

If it happens that Trunks and Mai are still together, they also wouldn't make Trunks the size of Cell Game Gohan dating a kid the size of a five-years-old : she wouldn't even be at the height of his belt, which would look akward.

I think the whole "After Buu was defeated" is used as apart of marketing for the show since it airs after the final episode of Kai and Kai's final episode is set 10 years after the death of Kid Buu. I remember GT had marketing saying it takes place 10 years after Buu from what I can recall.

Goten and Trunks will probably look like their Majin Buu arc selves. Toriyama wants to avoid going to the 'ending' because everyone was "too old." In his less than perfect mind his logic is probably "they're still young because it's still set between the Majin Buu arc and last chapter. Using a younger Goten and Trunks makes it easier to sell merchandise of them as "the kids" of the group rather than two little girls, which would mean marketing outside of Bandai's usual demographic.

In other words, nobody really gives a damn about anything but money or their own whacky logic.

Not to sound rude, but why do people even like Uub? he's barely 2 episodes and there's really no character there. just a 10 year old human kid who's the reincarnation of some evil bubble gum monster. Is the possible potential of the character so attractive or something I fail to see in him?

He's basically pre-Buu Saga Gohan.

It's the potential of the character. He's the reincarnation of the strongest villain in the series prior to these new movies and Super and he's the one Goku passed down the torch to. His potential, not only in terms of power and abilities, but also in terms of development as a character.

I can see shortening it to Dragon Ball S, but I like Super. Title changing when the title is in English isn't something done much nowadays.

I don't think Toriyama will allow a 14-year-old boy to stay looking like an 8-year-old. 8,9,10 can look the same but 14, and growth spurt happens around 10,11 years old. I'm still betting on an older Trunks and Goten. Maybe that's the real reason they didn't show them in ROF. They are trying to make us miss them. Giving us the feeling that we haven't seen them for a while.
And what happens if you see someone after a while? Especially 10-year-old.

I hope FUNi don't do that. Dragon Ball Super is fine as a title and they should stick with that.

Despite Trunks and future Trunks being the same person, it's entirely possible that the time travel stuff left them with slightly different genes or something as well as the whole nature vs. nurture situation. Bottom line is that Trunks and Goten don't have to grow up at all until some point around/between the ages of 15 and 18 based on the example Goku set.

Personally, since they obviously aren't growing at the same rate Gohan or future Trunks did,I'm just rolling with the idea that Gohan and future Trunks got the Earthling growth gene and present Trunks and Goten got the Saiyan one.

For me, it's not that I particularly like Oob himself. But I feel like Gokuu's story is long over, and (from Toriyama's apparent perspective) Gohan and the other kids failed to live up to his legacy.

But then comes Oob, who is presented as Gokuu's definite successor after the other boys have grown up and lost interest. Before GT, he had all the potential to be just that. He even inherited Kintoun in the revised ending, and Neko Majin Z implied that his training won't be restricted to his village either.

A lot of the same things can be said about Pan, as the next generation of the Son family who seemed to have a lot of talent and interest in fighting. And I don't think Bra did anything besides exist at the end of the manga. But I'm at least interested in seeing where Toriyama would take these characters himself, because they're pretty much blank slates.

To be honest I initially hated Uub. That was 15 years ago. I had enough time to dwell and realize that from a story wise stand point his potential growth as a character is HUGE.


He's the human with the greatest potential that ever lived. Goku technically hand picked him as his successor. Not Gohan. Not Goten. Uub.


Uub was shown to take the initiative (entering the tournament was his own decision), he was completely blown away by Goku and seems to be quite happy to train. There's a sense of awe and discovery waiting for him. That is very important for his character.

An interesting main character needs motivation and his own voice.

Gohan is not really interested in fighting. Even during the 25th Tournament he was technically forced to participate by Videl in the first place. His crime fighting is more of a hobby.

Goten is mostly reactionary to everything Trunks wants to do. By EoZ he finally seems to be showing a more defining personality but still needs to get dragged along to the tournament.


As TripleRach commented, Uub is shown living with Goku and the Sons so I assume he would have made a friendship with Pan. I really want to see how those two really interact.

So Uubs loving is his raw potential as a character I can see that then. I'm kind of the exact opposite, When i see a character with tons of potential I'm scared that he/she won't amount to my expectations and disappoint me. Sorta like Gohan for me

speaking of genes, how does Gotens hair work? does he have saiyan style hair or did they just cut his hair to look like gokus?
