Personally, since they obviously aren't growing at the same rate Gohan or future Trunks did,I'm just rolling with the idea that Gohan and future Trunks got the Earthling growth gene and present Trunks and Goten got the Saiyan one.

speaking of genes, how does Gotens hair work? does he have saiyan style hair or did they just cut his hair to look like gokus?

Since only full saiyans have that unchanging hair he probably just has hair naturally shaped like Goku's, but without any saiyan weirdness about it. (i.e. in that regard he's essentially a human with naturally Goku-shaped hair.)

I think fans want to see Uub get the proper treatment that he deserved. In GT, he was pretty much a jobber since he did nothing but got his ass kicked. He got ass kicked by Bebi Vegeta twice, got his ass kick again from Super 17 and Yi Xing Long (both forms).

The reason I'm not interested much in Uub is because his personality seems too much like pre-Buu-arc Gohan. I didn't find Gohan interesting until his Buu arc high school mini-adventure where I felt he came more into his own. I really like adorkable Buu arc Gohan, I'm apathetic to pre-Buu-arc Gohan, there's no hook there for me.
There's always a chance Uub could gain some kind of schtick I'd enjoy if he were around long enough to develop it, but right now it's just like, from what little we saw he felt bland. On the same token I got a real kick out of Pan and what little we saw of her; fun little kid. I was sad GT botched up her character, imo.

They're 14 by this point, I believe, so they should look like Future Trunks back when Gohan was alive.

Despite Trunks and future Trunks being the same person, it's entirely possible that the time travel stuff left them with slightly different genes or something as well as the whole nature vs. nurture situation. Bottom line is that Trunks and Goten don't have to grow up at all until some point around/between the ages of 15 and 18 based on the example Goku set.

All this is just reaching for excuses to justify Toei/Toriyama's laziness with Goten/Trunks. Goku's example happaned way before that and since then we've had both Gohan and Future Trunks looking like proper tweens around the age Goten/PresentTrunks are in BOG. This is just high design inconsistiency and little else.

The fact that Goku growing up at that age was a long time ago doesn't mean it didn't happen in this series.

In the real world, people don't develop at the same constant rate. That even includes identical twins sharing their genes. Toss alien genetics into the mix (which were just reconfirmed in Jaco that Saiyans stay children until a pubertal growth spurt), as well as how the characters are nurtured over the course of their life and time travel shenanigans (meaning the two versions of Trunks may not have been conceived or born at the same time, location, etc) and it just becomes more complicated with who may have inherited what, what stimuli caused what, etc.

Yes, that's my main problem. I also feel it is clear they avoided showing them at all in the new movie because of the black slash last time, specially because this happens arguably a year later. Trunks should already be at the age he was being shown on the specials. I bet they are panicking trying to decide if they should stick with the old more familiar model or push for teen look and "loose the kid demographic".

Also... Bra. If this series starts immediately after FoF, Bulma needs to be already pregnant of Bra for her age to make any sense on EoZ.

I'll be very disappointed if Goten and Trunks don't age at all, because not only would it confirm the series will probably play it safe and be afraid of taking risks, but it means it's just more Dragon Ball Z instead of being Dragon Ball Super. I don't know about everyone else, but seeing character growth, new Gi and outfits are already something that pleases me greatly.

Exactly. Growth of the characters, moving forward and bringing in unexpected developements has been the staple of the show. People expect the same from Super, not a rehash

I don't know about everyone else, but seeing character growth, new Gi and outfits are already something that pleases me greatly.

It's 1 of the best things about the series for me so hopefully it makes it's way into S.

Just have Goku's outfit work like some of the avatars on here. It's completely different every time you look at it.

If the series is long enough and covers enough time, I honestly wouldn't mind if they started in the F dogi, moved to a new dogi for the next arc or two and then ended with the blue dogi for another arc or something.

Changing clothes and hairstyles was one of the things I always loved of DB. It gave a sense of "real life".

I mean, pretty much almost everyone got a hair change sans Goku+Saiyans, Roshi, Tien/Chaoz... Launch?

Well, if Super would be long enough, I wouldn't be so disappointed if it started right away after ROF and then jump after EOZ later on.
But I would really love to start after EOZ right away.

I just don't really want all the new stuff being stuck in this 10 years gap forever. Its enough and Tori should move forward.
