I don't like the idea of destroying other universes when we still have to see the other worlds that exist out there.

I feel the main reason we are getting the Multiverse Tournament is because Toei looks to be afraid of the rough competition that will have 2017 in:

OPM Season 2
JJBA Vento Aureo
Gintama Final Seaosn
NNT Season 2
SNK Season 2
Code Geass Season 3
BNHA Season 2
SAO Movie
Fate Movie
Probable return of mainstream series in Magi, Tokyo Ghoul, Bleach.

They dont want DBS to be overlooked by the other series and that should also explain that the pre production wont be rushed like the Champa Arc.

None of these are competition for Dbs.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I can't see this being the last arc, It might be the end of Goku's story but I can't see it being the end of the Dragon Ball World. There's so much that can come out of a tourney like this, like a sore looser or whatever that want's revenge. Or Zen-Oh's creating something new to explore.

Super never left the Top 10 of anime watched in Japan since it started so I highly doubt any of those will matter.

If this isn't announced as the last arc then it won't be.

Named an example where Gohan is gown as a skilled fighter when he isn't overwhelming stronger than his opponent.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.

"At Goku’s request, the Omni-Kings’ “Tournament of Power” martial arts tournament between universes now begins! …But this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquished…?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn out…?"

This sounds like anything but the end of Super.

I'm guessing all the teams will be plopped down in different places on a planet and forced to survive and fight each other.

I don't think the Universes are actually being destroyed, but I wouldn't be surprised if a loss means death for the participants.

Why are people thinking this is the last arc of super? Given the series making shiploads of money why would they end it?

And what's the point with the Dragonball Room and simulcast if this is the last arc lol I don't understand why some people think this is the last arc

I would love if the new arc starts with #17. A reintroduction of the character showing us his new life and how he changed since the Android Arc. Him doing his job, kicking some poachers. Having matured from the childish teenager he was.
One episode maybe two; yeah that would be nice. At the end #18 shows up inviting him and we would be informed together with him about what the hell is going on.

Also, if there's one thing we can't complain about is the variety of the team. Hopefully the tournament isn't just fight's: some obstacle courses, some weird challenges which would include visiting a bunch of places.
Zeno-chan seems to be the kind that wants entertainment. I can see a more interesting format actually happening.

Also, the title and descriptions seem to be implying that universes will be destroyed, so that's something.

Most of those anime don't have the same audience as Dragon Ball. Code Geass, Tokyo Ghoul, Attack on Titan, Fate and OPM are market to a older audience than Dragon Ball. Most of those don't even air on the same time around as Super.

I don't like the idea of the tournament so soon...

But I'll give this a chance, count me in. The Universe destruction thing seems intriguing.

The first tournament was fun enough, and fun is what I'm looking for. I get why people aren't all for something like this after the cluster that was the first tournament, but I'm cautiously optimistic. Not because I have any faith left in the writers, but because I can't imagine how they could screw this up. Animation issues should be the only trouble, here.
