What terrible shit for DLC. I'm definitely not buying this game.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

These online matches are starting to really piss me off.

We were both down to the last bit of our health, on our last men in a 5v5 team match.

It was Gogeta vs. Gogeta: The final showdown.

I had stunned him, there was a clear opening, I pressed down to do my Ultimate move, a rush, and finish him.

He simply presses Y....and fires one measly, generic, yellow ki blast at me.

It kills me.

........

...FML.

Didn't rushes deflect these in earlier Sparking! titles?

Legs? What legs? Media Create reports that in it's second week of release DragonBall Raging Blast for PS3 has slipped from third to tenth place in the top 30. It did 17,000 for a 71% decline in sames from the first week. The 360 version fell off the top 30 entirely.

Of it's initial 124,800 shipment on PS3 in Japan, it's moved 75,000 of those for a 60% sell through. Not horrible. But the game isn't showing signs of legs.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Here's the rundown on the DLC. I'll include all of the important bits.
All of the characters have different aura colors, and they all have an item that reduces the amount of D-Points you obtain.

Tenshinhan:
Ultimate Power Up Maximum: Raises ultimate attack damage to "ultimate" proportions.
Ultimate Power Up M: Raises ultimate attack damage by a medium amount.
Instincts of a Champion!: Raises ultimate attack power by astonishing levels when health is lost.
Health Up S: Raises health by one bar.
Ki Blast Attack Rate Up: Fires an extra ki blast in rush mode.
Miracle Power: Decreases damage taken when health is reduced to one bar.

He seems to be optimized to dish out damage using ultimates. I hit Kuririn with two blasts (as Tenshinhan fires multiple shots using his ultimate) and dished out over 22K damage. Nice.

Yamucha:
God of War: Gives you the power of a "War God." All stats are higher than 75.
Ultimate Crash Up: Increases damage dealt when you crash an opponent into the ground or wall.
Super Guard Ki Recover: Refills ki when you deflect or block an enemy super attack.
Feel Superior: Increases Super Attack damage against opponents with less attack power than you.
Plasma Aura: Lightning aura, like SSJ2 or SSJ3.

Holy shit. He's got max health, does crazy damage with melee and supers, and can take an insane amount of damage. He doesn't flinch when hit.

Kuririn:
Super Mode: Refills your ki quickly in battle.
Super High Tension Time Extended: Greatly expands the duration of high tension mode.
Rush Blast Speed Up: Increases the speed of ki blasts.
Ki Blast Attack Rate Up: Launches one extra ki blast in rush mode.
High Tension After Image Technique: Random chance to use After Image Technique in high tension mode.
Beautiful Roll: When blown away with a charge attack, it takes less time to roll into a recovery.

Huh. This Kuririn seems built to spam super attacks and ki blasts. He has a longer high tension time, refills ki quickly and can easily dodge attacks in high tension mode. No attacks do much more damage than normal.

Chiaotzu:
Opponent Paralyze Time Up S: Lengthens time of paralysis for enemies.
Opponent Paralyze Time Up M: Lengthens time of paralysis for enemies.
Ki Blast Attack Up M: Powers Up Ki Blasts.
Ki Blast Attack Up S: Powers Up Ki Blasts.
Super Androidize: Makes you unable to charge ki, but you recover it incredibly fast.
Beautiful Roll: When blown away with a charge attack, it takes less time to roll into a recovery.
Full Ki Control: Reduces ki spend on various skills.
Ki Blast Attack Rate Up: Launches one extra ki blast in rush mode.
Paralyze Time Down S: Cuts the time you spend paralyzed.

A horrible character remains almost completely unchanged. All he does now is paralyze people longer. The ki blast upgrades don't help because they're still easily blockable. Super Androidize is pretty nifty, but that's it.

Tell me if I missed anything.

I may pick this up eventually when it becomes cheap. Honestly, though, these fighting games are really wearing thin with me. I think it's definitely time for something new.

Its free, they could charge you and move on. Besides lets not forget Burst Limit that got no dlc at beyond the demo. They never said this was all the dlc just the free dlc, in fact this is the dlc list for the customized characters, if they are planning on releasing more characters rather than customized ones already in the game it does mean it would take time to program new characters seeing as they had it easier with these custom character as their mods are already made. All I am saying is wait for another dlc announcement. When other games such as Fable 2 and Halo and all that, the creators didn't tell all the dlc coming out in the beginning, lets wait and hope these character packs are not all. The more support a game has the more chances for dlc.

After looking at it, this "Goku's Corner", aside from having a cute title, is Bandai Namco's personal DB news/info site?

I've never heard of it prior to the past couple pages of this thread. :?:
On hiatus.

Pretty much, if theres a db game to promote in the future the site will focus on that game, depending on the sites success they allow that community to decide things for future games like how they let the Naruto community decide the cover art for NUS. The sites survival depends solely on if theres a game to promote and how actives its member are. If the members are very active they have known to put the site on hibernation, which is when theres no game to promote but the site stays open till there is one. However hibernation announcements won't be announced till this games support period is over which is sometime in March.

Gamespot review is up.
Urg. "Online is plagued by spoilsport disconnections." Why do reviewers tend to include those in reviews? ALL games can be plagued with that if they have online play. Even then, the game has no control over that. It shouldn't be faulted for that.

I dunno. There are plenty of times (I'd say 70% of the time) when I'll go online, and it'll show the available matches. I'll click on them, then it'll give me some "This room does not exist" crap. I'll search multiple times and get the same room...but it still won't work. This doesn't happen in my other games like Halo, MW2, and even Naruto.

No no, they meant dealing with people who basically ragequit in the middle of a game to avoid officially losing.

Just want to bring attention to "team attacks" in the game, because these really interest me. Has anyone ran into any more on accident, or know anything more about them? I've tried some real scenarios in the series myself but didn't get anything; the possibilities are endless really.

Only ones I've seen are:

Special beam cannon hitting Goku
Piccolo and Gotenks
the triple spirit bomb
bros kamehameha

EDIT: I really wish Goku and Vegeta had that cheek to cheek move they did inside Buu. That would be my favorite team attack in the whole game.

My favrites right now being Vaporize []Buu and Change the Future {SS Fighting trunks}

because there are games that make it so players can't just leave. Its all the ethics of the players, why would I want to play against sore losers when I can play a different game with more respectable players?

I have a question though, I haven't bothered to check since Burst Limit but did Gamespot ever review BT3?
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

There's no way to prevent a player from unplugging their Ethernet cable.

Two options. Let the player who wasn't disconnected go on record as winning that match. Or do like Brawl and have a computer take over after the other player is disconnected.

1. Who cares about win loss count. I feel sorry for you if you only play online to add wins to your record.

2. If you end up playing against a computer what's the point of playing online?

1. If someone is willing to pull the plugg for losing a match then he cares so having the loss mark will hurt his pride. To me, its the principle of the thing, we are playing to have fun why do people need to pull the plug when they lose, just shrug it off or stick to player matches.

2. There isn't, but if the kids going to be a sore loser, kick him out and hurt his pride.
