Dragon Ball and Z didn't have consistent animation and they both follow the manga. The same with One Piece. Plus, the different between the anime and manga is on purpose, not a mix-up.OLKv3 wrote:So Toei is using the manga as a base for this arc? We know from a recent interview that Toyotaro will be more interactive with the anime staff, that doesn't mean his manga is a basis for anything. In all likelihood, they used him for their preview because there wasn't enough footage available.OLKv3 wrote:So Toei is using the manga as a base for this arc? A sequel doesn't make sense. Not going for spin offs instead either since Toei hasn't taken much chances historically, but with the db room bringing in doujinsho artists and things like the Yamcha manga, and toriyama perhaps being tired of Dragon Ball, who knows? Especially after we learned what happens to the losers in the new saga...HeroR wrote:Why would they make a sequel show? What sense does that make.Hellspawn28 wrote:The Buu saga in the manga and the Shadow Dragon arc in GT never said that they would be the last arc in the series. So who knows. Like a loose cannon like Freeza can be trusted. He would shoot Goku and vegeta in the back, survival be damn.Cipher wrote:I still want(ed) Freeza to wind up on the Universe 7 team. A few pages back someone mentioned the idea of Black somehow being on U10's team which would obviously be silly. Still, it made me think of the idea of the Kaioshin from U10's twin universe being a Zamasu twin...but I guess it isn't like U6's gods look anything like Kaioshin.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I wonder why every destroyer god is wearing a hood, maybe they don't want to show the designs yet?
So Daishinkan will be a protagonist in this arc, after that panel with that close up you can't say he doesn't look suspicious...

Why would Toriyama be getting tired when all he's really doing is writing barebone outlines?sangofe wrote: A sequel doesn't make sense. A sequel immediately afterwards could happen if they want to rebrand the show after any important time skip, rather than just going ahead with the same title - like the Buu Saga. They easily could have renamed the show at that point, just like the DB -> Z transition.sangofe wrote:A sequel doesn't make sense. I don't think he is but when he's done then his last arc will be heavily promoted as such to get as many viewers as possible.HeroR wrote:Why would Toriyama be getting tired when all he's really doing is writing barebone outlines?sangofe wrote: A sequel doesn't make sense. He's doing more than writing bare bone outlines. He's basically the editor now, while Toyo/Anime team is in his old role.HeroR wrote:Why would Toriyama be getting tired when all he's really doing is writing barebone outlines?sangofe wrote: A sequel doesn't make sense. He makes light corrections to a bare-bones manga. He's still not doing all that much.OLKv3 wrote:He's doing more than writing bare bone outlines. He's basically the editor now, while Toyo/Anime team is in his old role.

The only visible characters are Bills, Champa, and Kaioshin of U6 and U7, no Gowasu can be seen but surely he is there, I'm excited to see the God of Destruction of U10.

Japanese news outlets are making a big deal out of Kiyoshi Hikawa singing the new opening (and how he is "challenging anisong for the first time"). It's said to be a rock song, as expected, but which is very different from his usual style.

It's not like there wasn't already blood on his hands Goku practically gotten future trunks timeline destroyed cause of his fucks ups in the anime.OLKv3 wrote:So Toei is using the manga as a base for this arc? I'm guessing Whis' dad will be the final boss of the tournament. Also this is Goku's fault, if he didn't suggest the U6 tournament, none of this would be happening. Now a ton of deaths will be on his hands.
Plus I doubt goku thought the omni tournament would result in a do or die stake.

No one actually minds, it's the same thing as us saying Tien or pronouncing Kaioken "Kay-ho-ken". DB translations have their quirks in every language.Alee9977 wrote:Sorry, I'm from Latam and I'm used to call him like that.sintzu wrote:A puppy dies everytime Beerus is called this.Alee9977 wrote:The only visible characters are Bills...![]()
