Well, The Best Buy near me had this early, so I decided to buy it. The only thing that sucks is that I gave the employee my print out from Target, and she said that they don't do online only print-outs anymore, so I guess people were taking advantage of the price matching system there or something, oh well. It was only 50$, which is less than the original retail price.

Anyhow, the box looks amazing as always, and Dende got his own disc cover art which is amazing. Can't wait to watch this, woo! Oh, and the DVD and Guide Books all fit in the box without having to be yanked out, which is a nice improvement.

For the people who have the 2nd box, is there a commercial for the 3rd box or a picture of it or anything? I know its Frieza right? But I havent seen a picture anywhere of the actual box.

Still so envious of the look and Size of the JP boxes. Even just ALL the extras Japan for for buying them look great.
The same with the singles. The US didn't get JACK for our money spent.

The only thing advertising the third Dragon Box was this: http://s93.photobucket.com/albums/l59/H ... C01379.jpg

There was no actual box though.

Check amazon's listing of DBox 2 you'll see a trailer for the third one narrated by Kuririn. :P

Cool! Though I thought he'd be in the flying throne thing, his pose looks even sillier... lol... I still love it...

Thanks for the heads up, ShadowDude.

I was surprised to see Freeza's feet. Kind of an odd pose too. Like he's just jumped out of the bushes and yelled "Boo!"

No problem and I would have never thought of that. Hahaha.

Went to Best Buy today and I went by the anime section of DVD's and they already had Dragon Box #2 on sale early so for those who haven't gotten it, well, go get it.

How much is #2 at Best Buy? Do they still price match the Target online price?

$49.99
And only some stores will accept price-matching, YMMV.

Even though it's not that image it seems Akira Toriyama probably had that image in mind. It looks really close.

My review's up over at Amazon just in time for the release date. Just finished watching all the episodes back on Saturday. Remastering is great as expected. Loved the Dragon Column for this box, specifically, the "Impressive Words" and Top 3 Countdowns. I think Son Goku's "Sorry, Sorry." from episode 66 is my favorite considering the circumstances in which it was used, and Mike was right about that particular scene being one of the smartest things any DBZ character has done. By Goku of all characters as well. Going back and watching the Namek/Freeza episodes in Japanese for the first time is fun, but like the In-House FUNimation dub back when it aired on Toonami, it reminded me of how dreadful the whole Freeza conflict can be. Yeah, it was pretty long in the manga, but the anime made it worse. Not the greatest offender as the Cell arc transformations were, but you can tell where the series's negative nature get its origins from in the Freeza fight. Where the Saiyan arc has filler episodes in between, the Freeza arc has unnecessarily long transformation sequences and "stare downs". Honestly, I prefer filler material by Toei, if the trade off means going by the main story by a consistent and well-done pace. People may complain about the horrors of filler, but for weekly TV series based on weekly serials, I think it's a necessary evil. If anything, I'm looking forward to the Kai version of these specific episodes and the Goku vs. Freeza afterwards, and from what I've seen so far, they're doing a pretty good job of it.

Welp...Amazon sent me an e-mail stating that my DBox #2 was shipped today. I can't wait. I haven't seen any Namek episodes in a long time (having been keeping up with DBKai either), so I'm really looking forward to this set. :)
