Losing more respect for Funimation each day that they refuse to say anything. Gutless cowards. I honestly could see them keeping Vic on their talent roster.
Re: Vic Mignogna
Considering some of the people coming out against him, I feel Funimation is sitting on a statement. Look how long it took for other Funi VAs to speak out. It's only recently that Rial called Vic out specifically.TVfan721 wrote:Losing more respect for Funimation each day that they refuse to say anything. Gutless cowards. I would honestly like for them to give him another chance at redemption. He seems like he's willing to make amends. However, I feel it may be in their best interest to drop him.

Re: Vic Mignogna
I mean, what do you expect them to say or do? They can't really cut ties with him. He voices 2 important characters for Dragon Ball & One Piece, so he's gonna be working for them in the future & he's one of their best regulars, so they may wanna use him again in casting. Even then, he doesn't really do a lot of work for them as it is except the occasional role, since he mainly works in California. At best, they may limit how many future roles he has with them, even though he doesn't do a lot for them as-is. That's the best anyone who actually expects them to do something can expect.TVfan721 wrote:Losing more respect for Funimation each day that they refuse to say anything. Gutless cowards. Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

Re: Vic Mignogna
They didn't have a problem recasting Gohan, Bulma and Frieza come DB Kai, and to the best of my knowledge the only thing close to this out of any of them was Nadolny getting DUIs.

None. There's no defense anyone could muster for Vicken McNuggets at this point after people like Monica Rial and Neil Kaplan have spoken extensively about the issue.Captain Awesome wrote:Given some of his coworkers are now coming out in support of the victims, what now exactly is the rationale behind jumping to his defence?

Wonder if he'll be recast as Broly going forward.TVfan721 wrote:Funimation is starting to make changes it seems.

That's a given at this point. The question remains about the home release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly and if Funimation is going to redub Broly before release.gokaiblue wrote:Wonder if he'll be recast as Broly going forward.TVfan721 wrote:Funimation is starting to make changes it seems.

Re: Vic Mignogna
There's almost certainly no way they'll bother re-dubbing the film, it just wouldn't be cost effective. It will likely go down as the last time he plays the role, as unless they've already recorded his part as the new version of Broly for FighterZ's impending DLC, that will probably be someone else as well.ShadowBardock89 wrote:That's a given at this point. Seems like Vic's voice over career is over for now (at least in the areas we can see). Hopefully he can bounce back from this and become a better person.

Re: Vic Mignogna
You're forgetting the whole Kenji Yamamoto plagiarization with Dragon Ball Z: Kai. The first editions of the first 4 Kai sets contained Yamamoto's score. After Yamamoto was dismissed, subsequent releases of those sets contain the Kikuchi replacement music. Unlike the Yamamoto incident in which Funimation re-released those four sets, Funimation has not released the home release for Broly, yet. They could very easily delay the release and redub Broly.Gyt Kaliba wrote:There's almost certainly no way they'll bother re-dubbing the film, it just wouldn't be cost effective. Re: Vic Mignogna
Funimation might have actually gotten in trouble had they not used the replacement Shikuchi music. With Broly, It might. he a good idea to redub Broly's lines to distance themselves from Vic, but I don't think it would truly affect their bottom line.ShadowBardock89 wrote:You're forgetting the whole Kenji Yamamoto plagiarization with Dragon Ball Z: Kai. Re: Vic Mignogna
That's not at all comparable. The Kenji Yamamoto stuff was Toei trying to cover their own ass for legal reasons, simply opting to go scorched earth in case his score had any more bits of plagiarism. It wasn't motivated by "ethics."ShadowBardock89 wrote:You're forgetting the whole Kenji Yamamoto plagiarization with Dragon Ball Z: Kai. Re: Vic Mignogna
I’m pretty sure it was Toei making Funi re-release those episodes with the replaced score. I don’t remember them re-releasing the “Parts” sets with Kikuchi. Did they do that? I thought it was just the first “Season” set that they re-released. I really don’t see Funi redubbing Broly for the home release, but I guess anything could happen. It would definitely be interesting to see.ShadowBardock89 wrote:

Re: Vic Mignogna
After a little bit more digging, I might be wrong. Still, I could have sworn there was a reprint of the first four parts of Kai with the Kikuchi replacement score.Freeza Soldier #156 wrote:I’m pretty sure it was Toei making Funi re-release those episodes with the replaced score. If this incident happened a little bit earlier, I'm sure he wouldn't have "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" on his paycheck.
Re: Vic Mignogna
Like I said before. If this shit was going on for 15 years it shoud have been made into a big deal long ago. I am not defending Vic, but until I see some evidence other than, he kissed someone on a cheek and hugged fans I really can't say he deserves to be destroyed.Zinnia wrote:Or how about it's because he was a shitty human being, and got completely scott free for over 15 years?IM21 wrote:welcome to the new era.
