I'd think that Gohan would be the more popular character.

Son of the main character prevalent throughout the Saiyan and Freeza sagas, hero of the Cell Games and then the Great Saiyaman.

You do have to factor in that Piccolo has been around for a good portion longer than Gohan, and with the original DragonBall being the more "popular" series in Japan (as opposed to here in the States, where the reverse is true), Rocketman's opinion just might have some validity.

Still, I can't see how Gohan isn't at least as popular.

The base argument here is whether or not he should have been given a cover. Rocketman, I know that'cha hate Gohan, but c'mon; given the role that the series tries to put him in-- that of an important central character-- shouldn't he have had at least ONE cover out of the nine?

Agreed. Gohan, to most people (at least in America) is considered "uncool." Piccolo, on the other hand, is considered "almost as cool as Vegeta."

I thought the US fanbase ignored anyone that wasn't a Super Saiya-jin.

When the Cell Games were airing on Cartoon Network for the very first time, it sure as hell wasn't Vegeta whom everyone was proclaiming to be the shit.

What Cell Games were you watching?

From what I can tell, all this "cool" and "awesome" that fans-- especially American ones-- apply to Vegeta is window dressing for a character for all intents and purposes is the biggest loser of a broken record in the entire show.

Don't get me wrong, now; there's plenty of room to say that Gohan's just as much a broken record. And both characters have genuine moments of greatness despite that. But at least Gohan accomplished a few things in between all that whining he did. Vegeta, meanwhile, accomplished . . . well, the whining.

But that's just how I see it.

GOD DAMMIT, ROCKETMAN; JUST PUT GOHAN ON THE FUCKING WHEATIES BOX ALREADY. JUST ONE BOX, JUST ONE!!

For those that want to know, Season 7 still has the Japanese episode title cards.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

just a heads up to people who've been picking these up at best buy, they don't seem to be doing their 2 for 45 dollars deal on this set. Just dropped sixty bucks on both the movies and season seven today. :(

Good to know. At least it fits in with the trend we've had with these sets since the beginning-- I'll take all the consistency I can get.

Those Double Features could use some damned Japanese title cards.

If the $60 is that much a pain-in-the-mik'ta to you people, then pair the two releases into an online purchase! You can knock off at least ten bucks that way, if not more.

Wal Mart does have both for 50 dollars. Not a bad deal considering they retail for 80 dollars together.

I wonder why the dub changed Episode 195(the later part). Dub Cell is trying to lead an escape from Hell, while the original version has Cell taking over Hell.

Maybe the writers are so bad that the only way they could get coherent sentences with the mouth flaps that they had was to change it, other than that I cannot think of a single reason to change something so minuscule.

Eh . . . who knows why FUNimation does anything of this nature? I mean, c'mon; they've changed shit both bigger and smaller than this particular edit.

*shrug*
