So this tournament is literally the survival of their universe, yet Trunks and Goten who are Super Saiyans, and can also transform into SSJ3 Gotenks (if fusions are allowed) and they decide not to bring them?

Do they actually know it's a life or death tournament from the get go? It could start friendly and unravel. We know close to nothing about this tournament.

Too much outrage based on predictions. Wait for the bloody arc. I bet they will give us a bunch of aspects to criticize and to praise.

Well, with the confirmation of the Daishinkan explaning how this survival tournament works I find hard to believe that Beerus won't tell to Goku and the others, so now makes no sense for them avoiding to get Goten and Trunks on their team.

Am I the only one who thinks it'll be revealed as a lie to get everyone to fight seriously..? I mean, death for losing is a serious motivator. And it'd stop guys like Hit from holding back their true strength.

Lie? No, that would be underwhelming in so many ways I don't think they would hype us by a lie.

I think Hit's episodes will play an important role for the next arc maybe there it will be revealed who wanted him dead

I don't think this filler will have some connection with the new arc.

It is not just about power. You need to bring people who will get the job done when under pressure.

Tien and Roshi are much better at handling the pressure.

That is why if at any stage durimg the tournament there is a round where it is like the universe 6 vs universe 7 tournament you would not put people like Gohan and Vegeta at the end as they are no good in pressure situations. Goku are Piccolo are the best at handling pressure and the other members of the team would put their trust in them to pull a win towards the end of the tournament, so they would go last.

I think that indicates exactly the opposite. They know from the start what are the stakes involved. We see no manga panels with the other team members, so the team doesn't seem to be gathered at that point. It also explains why 17 is there, who isn't exactly close to the others.

He could have just taken the strongest fighters in his universe because it is the match against other gods of destructions in a sense..

I hope this arc will be really long. Not only cause they're changing the OP for this saga, but there's also no way they could fit all of this in the short amount of episodes that they've been doing. Plus they've been building this since the Champa arc, no way they'd make it so short.

See, here's the thing..
They shouldn't make it short, at any costs..
But they tend to do so all the time..
It seems like they really gotta pee but telling the story comes first..

This arc should substance wise surpasses namek saga, they really need to not rush it in any way this time..
It seems like they are trying, I am sure the animation would be good where it counts but the story framing aspect, Not so sure about that
