I guess I got too spoiled by Herms translation... At least, its worthy by the HQ scans and marketing.

I got it. That's why I just told him why Super manga is different and has more chances to have a tankobon release, than Victory Mission ever had. :)
I just read the manga to it was very funny. One question, no interaction between Beerus and the old kai. Beerus seeled him away right?

I did read the manga and their stood hand-to-hand combat tournament. Does that mean ki attacks aren't allowed? If so, then I would really appreciate it.

Yeah he did. Maybe they will touch that one in next chapter.

The rules are the same than Baba's tournament or Tenkaichi Budokai. They can use Ki Blasts but not weapons, have outside help, etc.

Goku doesn't hate Gohan. He just knows Gohan have other goals in his life, and fighting is not one of them. Father of the year.

Cause he didn't show up to watch him fight, among other things. But hey he ain't in the next arc it seems so they're done with Gohan. He didn't get to bow out gracefully, but ah well.

Right cause he didnt show up to watch him fight.....hey wait a minute!? Is this the same goku who abandoned his family and including his pregnant wife so he can stay dead and train? Or the one who in a heartbeat will ditch his family to train a stranger leaving Gohan to yell out father and chichi faint, or the same goku he doesnt visit his friends in 5yrs even when he chances arrouse so that he could train and hang out with nature??

I think you're taking this way too seriously. Yeah he makes a comment on Gohan not showing up to watch him, but it's not that big a deal. I make tons of jokes about worthless Gohan since the series likes to do that too. Goku isn't much of a father figure anyways as Toriyama himself has said, so it's no surprise he's like a kid upset his pal didn't show up to watch him play his sport and cheer him on. Gohan and Chi Chi feel more like Goku's pals than family anyways.

I think he's using F Bomb group chapter 7 translation that was released today as reference... Their awesome translation goes like this:
Kinda extreme.

Anyone else find Gohan's absence... fishy? Like, perhaps there is something going on with the character? This has to amount to something. Maybe I'm just trying to remain optimistic, but they can't possibly be shitting on him this much, can they?
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

We've been discussing this for the past week. Yeah, I also think they have good plans for him. Even Bulma's parents are going to see the tournament, while Gohan stays alone on Earth... Definitely fishy.

I also want to be believe that's why Toei treated him like shit and made his lack of training obvious , in ROF arc. Lets be optimistic.

I'm wondering if perhaps he's going to have some sort of side story. Maybe the return of Saiyaman? Nah, I'm not entirely sure if they are going to do anything with him, but it does seem way too mean spirited to at least not let him go to watch the tournament if he does nothing.

I believe Herms wrote he said something along the lines of "That bastard." Yeah he's disappointed but it's really just Goku being a man child as I said above. He doesn't love his family like other people do. Everyone more or less is a pal.

Calling it now. He's beaten to near death or dead off screen by the next bad guy or trouble on earth. Right after his quote from Super proves to mean absolutely nothing.

I don't know, Goku has always had a carefree attitude towards Gohan. Blindly supportive and positive is how I would previously described him Goku towards Gohan. Now he doesn't even believe in him enough to have him join the tournament when he previously trusted the fate of the world to his hidden potential and seems to be frustrated with him cause he has prior things to do on earth.

It's not like I hate Goku and Gohan relationship now but I guess I should say I hate how the new writers are handling Goku and Gohan relationship. But that's nothing new. there's a billion of things the new writers are doing poorly compared to Toriyama's previous work in the Dragon Ball manga.

Well it's simply Toriyama not wanting to write for Gohan. It seems like that's what's been going on behind things. Writing Gohan not even showing up is probably the best example of not wanting to write for the character. Say he's off doing something so you can ignore him. It's probably better he write for people he likes, rather than try and write for people he doesn't. He did that, and we got the horrible horrendous Goku and Chi Chi relationship.

I think their relationship is interesting and under appreciated. It's more or less mocked now a days. Simply it's better to stick to writing for characters you're passionate about, rather than force yourself to write for those that don't excite you, and make more mediocre material. Too bad Super is still mediocre anyways.

Goddamn it Gohan just keeps on taking L, after L, after L. This is just embarrassing at this point.

I laughed reading this because I didn't think about it. This can very well be the case.

If I'm right I am definitely using the Cooler line from TFS.
