Goten and Trunks play a bit too rough and end up hospitilizing themselves whilst Korin's out of Senzus. Yamcha has other commitments that he cannot free up time for and Chiaoutzu... blows himself up again? Enter Roshi!

The only reason I can think of is nostalgia, but even so, people are nostalgic for Yamcha and Yajirobe too I'm sure...maybe Yajirobe is expensive because Mayumi Tanaka? Roshi's on his third(?) replacement voice actor, so he's cheaper. (But where does that leave Yamcha?).

If anything you'd think they'd want to avoid Roshi since he brings sex jokes with him and that's harder to market overseas as a kids show.

True. It's so easy for me to forget how expensive he probably is because outside of Yamcha I'm really only familiar with him as voicing Tuxedo Mask in Sailor Moon (though I know he a big voice actor in Gundam, I never really followed Gundam so.) though I'm sure he's done plenty of other famous roles.

Well, let's see... A lot of fans see Krillin as a joke (myself included) and Tenshinhan as the badass bald warrior because of his "awesome" feats against Semi Perfect Cell and Super Boo. Krillin slacked off in the Boo arc and Tenshinhan kept training like always, so those are indicatives, but people tend to forget Yamcha line to Marron and that Toriyama confirms that Krillin is indeed the strongest earthling. Sadly there's no argument, for me Tenshinhan fits more this role than Krillin, but Toriyama like him better, so there's nothing to do.

Vegeta will always see Goku as his eternal rival. Doesn't mean Goku feels the same.

It is pathetic that Goku prefers to train with Krillin than Gohan, I know both are weaklings, but Krillin is a ant to Goku for ages now, it doesn't make any sense for him to regress his training that much. F****** and its dumb nostalgias references.

roshi has a stronger history than yamcha does, he actually beat goku fairly after destroying a moon

speak for yourself good sir I welcome more roshi with open arms. super clearly doesn't care about things making in universe sense so I just don't care anymore.

just entertain me and watching roshi fight is far more entertaining than yamcha who may I remind everyone his last real one on one fight was against a saibamen. that killed him.

Well you did had fans that wanted humans to be more relevant again. Yajirobe didn't seem much like a fighter. Seeing Roshi kick ass again in ROF was the coolest thing that Roshi did in a while. It was the first time he put up a fight since DBZ Movie 2.

Well you did had fans that wanted humans to be more relevant again. Yajirobe didn't seem much like a fighter. Seeing Roshi kick ass again in ROF was the coolest thing that Roshi did in a while. It was the first time he put up a fight since DBZ Movie 2.

Z fighters vs freeza force was the coolest thing in Rof..
And Roshi kicking ass was the best among even that..
