It's not so much the fact of how Broly is being used. Rather, the fact that it's Broly being used at all. He's already become severely over-exposed to a sickening level in almost everything DragonBall lately; why add fuel to the fire?

This 'God Mode' trait could have just as easily and appropriately been applied to someone like Garlic Jr. Someone who actually DOES have immortality going for him, and is ten times more interesting than Broly.

But no. The fancomic is, thus far, applying to the lowest common denominator by making it all about Super Saiyans again. I hope it'll redeem itself, but so far, I'm not clicking on this thread for much more reason than to check grammar. :/

We don't know how far in advance this has been planed. I think it's a bit unfair to expect another fan author to curtail their hobby to the happenings in the official merchandise.

Of course it could have, but that's not the story Salagir wanted to tell. He was inspired by the concept of the character presented in the films and decided he wanted to curtail details to his own liking and astonishingly enough, it makes sense. Broli remains virtually unharmed in all of his films until the final blow where the plot then kicks in to kill him and end the movie. It's pretty obvious Salagir decided to take that and twist it for his own devices. We both do similar things with out GT rewrites, except we know without question whether we do or do not actually like the character. By using the popular Broli and making him indestructible Salagir gets a chance to make Vegetto look even better. I wouldn't be surprised if this entire situation (the angering of Vegetto fans and the possible angering of Broli fans, depending on the outcome) is Salagir making some sort of point about fans, that or he just wants to give them the finger, but I don't like being cynical. It's tiring.

Super Saiyans have been in all of two fights, and I'm not even willing to really count Pan's slaughtering. The tournament is faaar from over and at this point in I doubt Salagir is going to call it quits.

Even though I agree with most of your comments Kaboom, I'm going to disagree with you on this one. The real problem here is that Broly is being over used. Him being the story is not a problem at all. Just imagine if he wasn't; here you have a story based on characters not only from the original manga but the anime, and movies as well. After about a couple of chapters even I would wonder as to why they didn't add Broly to the roster. As much as many of us hate the character, he had three movies about him. That's more than Cooler, Lord Slug, or any one else for that matter. I just wish they toned the "Broli's Power is Maximum!" thing about 10 notches down.

I don't have the slightest issue with "Invulnerable as an LSSJ" because it's an interesting concept and means this fight will be about more than who is stronger, which would be an easy trap to fall into with Broly vs. Vegetto. DBM likes to do things differently than just *punch* *punch* *kick* *ki blast* all the time, and that's a good thing.

And you bring a very good point. If it was just x is stronger than y and therefore wins, the fight would be much more boring and I think there would be even more rage coming from Broly fans (which to be honest I haven't seen any rage coming from them, only from Broly haters/Vegetto lovers).

I would fucking love to see Garlic Jr. opening the Dead Zone (from a safe place) and swallow every fucking one from the stadium, that would stop the hate and rage for sure.
