If we are seeing old villains in Episode 76, I wonder if they end up using Zamasu and Black even though they are very recent.

I would like to see them, but I feel like we won't because the summary reads like this is an especially nostalgia-tinged episode, and the two of them haven't been gone long enough to reach nostalgic levels. (Though I do miss them).

You know, with this combination attack thing, it makes me hopeful that the next main Dragon Ball video game will have Ultimate Ninja Storm style combination attacks. It'd be a good way to implement the ones we may see in this arc.

Then I will surely miss Shinichirou Miki and Masako Nozawa's Goku Black..........Chuquita wrote:I would like to see them, but I feel like we won't because the summary reads like this is an especially nostalgia-tinged episode, and the two of them haven't been gone long enough to reach nostalgic levels. Hope it's King Piccolo instead of just plain evil Piccolo, would be nice to see some DB villains return, plus he was more of a villain than Piccolo was.

I don't feel like the returning villains will even have any speaking roles. They're probably just going to be voiceless illusions.

Freeza will probably get a line, since his voice is so iconic.Boo Machine wrote:I don't feel like the returning villains will even have any speaking roles. They're probably just going to be voiceless illusions.

More nostalgia pandering. They somehow found a way to get all the other past villains into Super besides Freeza without having to bring them back to life.
Half of Super is like, "Hey, remember this old character? He's coming back!" over and over.

It's fine for these types of episodes. We actually don't get that much nostalgia filler.precita wrote:More nostalgia pandering. They somehow found a way to get all the other past villains into Super besides Freeza without having to bring them back to life.

At least it's not an entire arc based on that. I think the main attraction here is Krillin. At least it is for me.precita wrote:More nostalgia pandering. They somehow found a way to get all the other past villains into Super besides Freeza without having to bring them back to life.

They've gotta have a few more "animal" gods in there man!
I was kinda hoping for a parallel theme - Egyptian gods, Greek gods, Norse, etc. I'm happy with the Angel design.

...You'd be surprised, I'm not exited over the fact that *ghost* Freeza, Cell, and Buu are coming back. Besides we rarely, if ever get nostalgia pandering in this show. Also, when?precita wrote:More nostalgia pandering. They somehow found a way to get all the other past villains into Super besides Freeza without having to bring them back to life.

RoF, Frost from U6, and Trunks were blatant fanservice. The same stories could have happened without them with only a few tweaks. We have gotten quite a bit, although not quite like this.Gog wrote:...You'd be surprised, I'm not exited over the fact that *ghost* Freeza, Cell, and Buu are coming back. Three things + Veggeto honestly, not much besides that, at least not worth mentioning. Also everyone hates FrostJinzoningen MULE wrote:RoF, Frost from U6, and Trunks were blatant fanservice. Saying "three things" is easy enough, but you're forgetting that they've taken up a HUGE portion of the series, so it's understandable that some people are indifferent to or are repulsed by the idea of this training episode.Gog wrote:Three things + Veggeto honestly, not much besides that, at least not worth mentioning. I'm just hoping this is the last "Krillin needs to regain confidence" story.
Don't get me wrong, it makes perfect sense to me. Krillin's been hanging out with Goku, Gohan, Piccolo and Vegeta for so long he ends up comparing himself to them, and has become genre savvy enough to know he'll constantly be outmatched by the space aliens, demons and otherworldly entities that keep threatening the planet. However within Super we've had:
-Krillin asking Goku to punch him in order to feel the gap in power between them. He's worried he made the wrong decision about his training. Was never sure if that meant he would return to training or give up all together at the end.
-Krillin's PTSD scene with the RoF soldiers. He's become so used to everyone around him being leaps and bounds above him he's actually forgotten he ranks pretty highly on Earth in general.
-Facing illusions of old enemies. Frieza and Buu have been responsible for his death in the past, he probably blames himself for 18 being absorbed by Cell and he's shown repeated concern that Vegeta and Piccolo will stop being allies throughout Z.
This is pretty much all the major times Krillin has appeared in regards to being a fighter within Super. RoF should have really wrapped it up with Roshi's speech, but if this episode is well done in that regards I won't personally mind too much.
This will hopefully give Krillin some satisfactory character growth as he overcomes multiple hang ups and past grievances that have plagued him on a personal level...just...don't redo this PTSD plot after the Universal Survival arc. It's becoming Krillin's equivalent to Gohan's "I want to get more serious about getting stronger" character development plot that never seems to get resolved.

You're expecting a little much from a filler episode.
