Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
They went with Supes sun dipping when Goku went SSJ2 by the half way point. So now we will see things escalate by the final product.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
There's the Bardock in space scene in the manga. The upcoming Battle of the Gods movie has a scene where Goku is fighting in space. On top of all this they're using the movies/specials/filler/GT versions of Goku as well the manga version. And we know Saiyans can survive space in filler and movies. Movies 2, 4, 8 and the Garlic Jr. saga all show Saiyans breathing (or surviving) in space.Mewzard wrote:Except a whole plot point of the Freeza arc was that Freeza could survive in space, and Saiyans couldn't. If Goku could survive in space, he could have flown to one of the nearby planets he gathered power from, and waited to be wished home.mysticboy wrote:I hope they know Goku can breath in space.
EDIT: Nevermind. In their Vegeta vs. Shadow Death Battle, they said Vegeta can survive in space so they'll say the same for Goku.

Survival is different than instant death.Mewzard wrote:Except a whole plot point of the Freeza arc was that Freeza could survive in space, and Saiyans couldn't. Even in real life, humans can survive in space for a few moments (under a minute) and what kills them first is the lack of oxygen. Still, would you say that humans can survive in space? No.
Its the same with saiyans. Goku could be in space for a limited amount of time. He can't actually survive there because he needs to breathe oxygen. Freeza is different, which is why he can survive in space.

That's the preview that was at the end of the advantage-only video, yeah. Only in much worse quality.

I wanted to make sure. I think it was pretty epic and I can't wait to see the full fight. I think it will end up being a draw.

Yeah I think that's real. I saw TonyTheTiger quote a line from this, so I'm guessing it's legit. Not to mention it's pretty good animation (for what it is). Kinda hoped for some for either Kikuchi or Yammamto score instead of Faulconer but, eh, whatever.Hellspawn28 wrote:I found this on FB. Is this real or not?

Hey, we got UB22 music so there's a chance it won't all be Faulconer. I'm acctually hopping they will use everything from the Shunsuke Kikuchi score to PTETS music to the Mark Menza stuff.

I was thinking they should do a Piccolo vs. The Hulk next seeing that I remember Beckett DBZ did a issue about it around 2003 when Ang Lee's Hulk film was coming out. I think it might be too one sided if we used every Hulk's feats since I remember he had some crazy feats from the 70's like able to destroy the "Dark Dimension" before. Maybe Broli vs. The Hulk could work better.

I would want to see the Red Ribbon Army vs Shadaloo/Shadowlaw from Street Fighter.
Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
While true, a limited time might effect Goku, as Superman has shown quite the ability to survive in space, and go decently close to the Sun. Goku, I think has less of a chance of making a fight near the Sun livable (not saying Supes would do that, just saying that its important to note the distinction for such a battle, should Goku, say, get punched in the gut hard enough to force him to exhale).rereboy wrote:Survival is different than instant death.Mewzard wrote:Except a whole plot point of the Freeza arc was that Freeza could survive in space, and Saiyans couldn't. I think so too. If one of them wins, the other's fanboys will indeed, RAGE!!1!1Hellspawn28 wrote:I wanted to make sure. I think it was pretty epic and I can't wait to see the full fight. I think it will end up being a draw.

The same could be said about the fans of the characters used in almost every single Death Battle episode.

I like when Goku destroy the kryptonite rock. It seems like something he would have most likely do seeing that they are fighting in character.

Gokū has been shown to survive being underwater for large periods of time. If he can hold his breath underwater for that long, there's no reason he couldn't do the same in space.Mewzard wrote:While true, a limited time might effect Goku, as Superman has shown quite the ability to survive in space, and go decently close to the Sun. Any word on when this will be out?

Re: Death Battle! Goku VS Superman Disscussion Thread
Sudden temperature shifts, more radiation to deal with the further they get out from the the protection of Earth's atmosphere and magnetic field, a massive pressure drop? All of the above at once? Space has more issues than just a lack of air. The question is, how would Goku handle those without proper protection? And before you mention the Boss Rabbit scene, remember, that was from a portion of the manga where people got shot through the head with bullets, and healed over the very next panel. The gag sections don't really work with the more realistic sections.Puto wrote: Gokū has been shown to survive being underwater for large periods of time. You won't lose body heat very quickly in a vacuum because there needs to be air for conduction/convection to take place. The lack of pressure shouldn't cause too much harm; even in humans it would mostly only cause some temporary swelling. The radiation and severe risk of sunburn are more concerning, but it really is the lack of air that gets you.

Also, radiation and the like is inconsistent. You might get exposed to a lot of it or none (in the same time period).Bussani wrote:You won't lose body heat very quickly in a vacuum because there needs to be air for conduction/convection to take place. Like I said before, they're taking stuff that didn't happen in the manga as well as things that did into account. Here's a scene of Vegeta and Nappa talking in space:

Goku should be fine.
