I don't know how much of a factor this might actually be, but besides the already mentioned things it's also possible that Funimation actually learned their lesson after the Level sets failed (released Orange Bricks -> Dragon Boxes -> Kai -> Level sets in rapid succession), and is trying to prevent brand fatigue now by limiting how many Dragon Ball products they release within a given period.

I can't believe the level sets failing is the type of world we live in. Pity.

Did the level sets fail purely because of the over saturation of the product or was there more to it?
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

The main reason was over saturation cause at the time we already got the season sets, dragon boxes&Kai.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

And they were expensive for the episode count which I believe was 17eps. Some people whinged about it not filling their tv screens. I have no idea what compelled them to release the level sets at the time in which they did, if they waited say a year things could have been so much more different.

It's far more likely that the reason they failed is because of the number of episodes per the price and the cost of the production was prohibitive. Potential buyers didn't feel the product was worth the price. I don't think it had much to do with any supposed oversaturation. I doubt waiting a year would've made much of a difference.

Um… so I just came across this on Tumblr: http://kisjuhaszeliza97.tumblr.com/post ... in-the-usa

"Hey DBZ Fans! Hey Toonami Fans! The Majin Buu Saga and the Evil Buu Saga will dubbing into English (Toonami version) and DBZ Kai Season 5 & 6 will air in the Fall 2016 or 2017 on Toonami block on Adult Swim."

I can't tell if it's legit or not.

Hmmm, who is this person? Does anyone know if she works at Toonami or something?

It sounds fake since it says will dubbing and will continues instead of will be dubbed and will continue. Either way, I think we've waited 3 years too many and by now, the majin buu saga should be dubbed. Although it still seems a little fishy that they said back in May, Sean Schemmel said they were dubbing the same line they were dubbing in January. My question is, when will it hit home release? I would hope summer 2016 or earlier, but if the episodes will air in fall 2016, my prediction is probably wrong

It's gotta be fake. If they're not releasing it until Fall of 2016 at the earliest for whatever reason, it's unlikely anybody outside Funimation would know about it now.

I think Super will be announced first before Buu saga Kai. Super is a brand new show and Funimation would want to get it out sooner then later.

Hey guys.
I watch this page like a hawk. Obsessed with Kai and waiting for Buu. I've wrestled back and forth in my head what's going on with Buu Kai, and have to my own conclusion. It's just not ready/finished yet. Funimation wants to make money. That is their main goal as a business. If it was finished, they would not just hold onto it to plan something to do with Super or RoF blu-rays. It is simply unfinished. I understand we've heard tidbits hear and their from voice actors doing different parts what seemed like years ago, but I think there is a lot more that goes into. They have had Kai release in years past at the same time as other releases, so it's not about confusing consumers. That do that already so well. I am confident by year's end we will hear something. But mostly hopeful confidence. :p

Funimation know they have already dropped the ball so big this time that they aren't even going to try and get it out asap. I honestly can't see them announcing it before next year.

I believe the broadcast dubs have slowed down their progress with Kai, as a lot of the actors are working on multiple ongoing broadcast dubs right now. The best we can hope for is a trailer for the first part on the "F" home video release.

I wouldn't even care if it wasn't the fact that i am a completionist and we get more episodes with international version. 167 vs 159

Until there's an official word (and usually there always is) on cancelation, I don't think Kai's further dubbing is out of the question.

I doubt its gonna get cancelled its to important of a series to Funimation to be cancelled. Even Kyle Hebert said in an email to me that "there's no reason to think Funimation wouldn't finish such an important series" in response to Kai.

Hopefully they'll announce it here alongside Super's English dub.
