No key animator can produce the same quality cut for the entrie episode with the rushed production.

Heath pointed something out on Twitter I hadn't noticed: Kuririn looks completely different in the comic, the unfinished key animation from KaneNorie and the finished Episode #32. It's like there's been a massive change at the last minute. I wonder how much money had to be spent redoing so shots? Kane saying that this shot was not going to be used suddenly makes a lot of sense. Maybe this is a reason they are so behind schedule?

Aw man, what is going on with production right now? It doesn't help that there were some bits in the NEP for episode 33 that looked pretty suspect, even with Toma at the helm...

It's looking like changes are being made last-minute that require entire cuts to be scrapped, which means key animation has to be redone now with less time.

Yeah, it's all very bizarre. I hope this doesn't set them back too significantly. Still, I wonder why some of these frames were scrapped, especially in Kuririn's case.

That's really weird. Could there have been some communication flaw? Maybe the recap episode was an attempt to gain time because of the possible mess up?

Are we even sure that supposed piece of key animation was legit? I'm certainly not. And a lot of assumptions being made based on that...

Yes, they're from Norio Kanakubo's official Twitter account, and he already worked on the series for episode 13.

Hopefully it was just a mistake that he drew Kuririn in his BoG design or they decided to change Kuririn alone and only he needs to be redrawn.

Yeah, but his twitter is full of fanarts and random drawings. That doesn't mean it was supposed to be for an episode.

Even if we assume he actually worked in an episode again, would he be allowed to show legit cuts like this? We know how strict Toei is. Unless it was rejected from day one.

I mean, the tweets say, "This was unfortunately cut from the final episode", and earlier tweets speak about how he's excited to be working on Dragon Ball Super. It's not unusual for animators to tweet their genga. Shida's done it before, and many PreCure animators do it on a weekly basis.

Episode 33:
Animation Supervisors:
Toma Seizo & Kitano Yukihiro

Key Animators
Toma Seizo, Horii Nobuo, Hayashi Yasuhiro, Iwata Koudai, Kubo Mitsuteru, Kitano Yukihiro, Buyu, office DCI, A-Line, and TAP.

That was dreadful. I feel bad for everyone involved. Look at this list! Mostly no-names, two supervisors, and then a load of foreign companies. Utter garbage.

Off all the episodes for Super to be very off model with its animation and art style it had to be during the first round of battles for the tournament that is a part of the brand new content for the show and franchise.

Fucking hell.

Feel so bad for the people who are so talented, and have to be a part of an episode like this. Tate cut looked godlike compared to what we got this episode.

Just dreadful, and next week looks no better, which is a damn shame because it looks like it has a lot of cool stuff there. The Resurrection 'F' arc was one thing, but this is a new story and it's damn near heartbreaking. This production is awful, I almost wish they'd just pull the plug for a couple of months and try again when they've sorted themselves out.

The fighting episodes always get the worst treatment.

There's no way Toei is gonna pull the plug on this. Dragon Ball is making too much cash at this stage, mostly thanks to Super, for them to can the show because of the animation quality. Toei aren't interested in providing quality animation every week. There just interested in seeing how much money they make of a cheaply produced show. Super is no different to how Toei treat One Piece, Sailor Moon Crystal etc.

I know they'd never do it, but I'd rather they did and just let Toyotaro's manga and the video games fill the void for merchandising purposes. I haven't seen Sailor Moon Crystal, I've heard bad things, but from what I've seen of One Piece it doesn't look extremely bad. One Piece gets to have freaking Shida animate cool scenes for it as well.

I know Toei has talented staff that can do good things with this show. They just don't have the time. If there's any good to come from this, it's that we might get a movie or two based on this tournament, because at this rate it'll be about as long as one.

A fighting episode, which takes way more time to produce than a light hearted episode.
