Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I'm expecting him to get a perfect score and then for it to revealed he has a PhD math, physics, neuroscience and engineering, has an IQ of over 8000, secretly taught Gohan everything he knew about scholaring and took a nap during Ressurection F because he was tired of schooling him. Why do I expect this? Because Toriyama loves to troll.sintzu wrote:Don't be surprised if Buu gets the highest score.buutenks wrote:

I just realized now that Universe 6 is the second arc that this series ever had, where Toriyama introduced the most new relevant characters in the beginning. (Pilaf arc still wins)
The 5 fighters from Champa's team, Zuno, Monaka and the 2 Kaioshins from 6th Universe. I'm not counting with Champa and Vados, since they debuted in ROF.
Damn, Toriyama is inspired.

Talk about a loaded question.Gyt Kaliba wrote:So you'd rather see either A) Vegetto show up, be massively overpowered, and just wreck the competition, or B) Vegetto show up and be way stronger than his opponent, but something happen to interfere with the fusion just like in the Boo arc, than get C) something newer (at least in regards to that particular character) where even his massive strength level isn't enough to beat the opponent?
You're entitled to your own opinion of course, but A just sounds boring to me, and we've already had B. If we must have Vegetto again, by all means, give me the C option.
Just because they don't want to see Vegetto be weakened and then get his ass kicked doesn't mean they want him to win easily or retread the Boo arc. Honestly, that is just straight up putting words in their mouth, the way you've worded those first two points is plain unfair.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Maybe it came across as loaded (in which case, I apologize), but that wasn't my intention in the slightest.Saiga wrote:Talk about a loaded question.Gyt Kaliba wrote:So you'd rather see either A) Vegetto show up, be massively overpowered, and just wreck the competition, or B) Vegetto show up and be way stronger than his opponent, but something happen to interfere with the fusion just like in the Boo arc, than get C) something newer (at least in regards to that particular character) where even his massive strength level isn't enough to beat the opponent?

Those are just the three most basic scenarios I can come up with off the top of my head for if Vegito appears - either he wins, either he loses, or it's something a little more neutral. If someone has a different idea that's not a variation on any of those three, then I'd like to hear it, because who knows, I might actually be persuaded towards that idea.
The irony here is I don't even want to see Vegito in the first place - I don't hate the character, or even really dislike him, but I don't have a strong desire to see more of him either, unless something more interesting is done with him. All I meant to do was question why it would be such a bad thing if Vegito popped up and he wasn't the be-all, end-all most-powerful-being-in-the-universe just because he's Vegito. It's the same curiosity I felt when people were riled up by the reference to him in Battle of Gods.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Well, I see it as loaded because you've said "so you'd prefer these [scenarios described negatively] over [scenario described positively]".
It was because you didn't seem to separate your own judgement of each scenario from the original question. I'd be inclined to agree with all your assessments (I don't want him used the same way as the Boo arc or GT Gogeta, I don't want him to be overpowered) but it came across like those were the only ways for those to play out.
I don't particularly want more Vegetto either - he was a pretty blatant plot device and I'm not fond of him - but I can definitely see why fans don't like the idea of him appearing again just to get his ass kicked. Especially if they invent a new weakness for him in doing so.

I'm excited for this Zarama guy,if he really can grant any kind of wish then it seems like Dragon Ball are finally going to have an omnipotent being.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I'm honestly kind of curious as to what kind of wish we'll see granted that would require this larger power behind it. I'd hope for something a little more creative than wishing back an entire universe of people or something, but I kind of wonder if that won't be the case.
Hmm...here's a thought though. Zarama created these original Dragon Balls, right? If something were to happen to him, and thus render the Super Dragon Balls inert, would that cause the Earth and Namekian Balls useless as well, since they all came from these originally? Or are they far enough removed to be their own thing at this point?

Who the f.ck is Zarama?SSJ3 Vegeta wrote:I'm excited for this Zarama guy,if he really can grant any kind of wish then it seems like Dragon Ball are finally going to have an omnipotent being.
Everybody is talking about him, as he was before in DB/DBZ?
I never heard about him....
I think the new transformations are cool (SSG red/blue), but wat I dont like about it is the faqt that the old transformations are worthless... Even if Gohan/Goten/Trunks become SSJ 3 they will be weaker than Goku and Vegita.
So there will no more use for this weaker transformations.
So with this new lvl everything will be focust on Goku and Vegeta (maybe that Piccolo wil get a new transformation and will get a small role).

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Just red the last chapter and I liked it so much that it angers me to see Toei making such a cheap job with the anime series while Toriyama appears to be genuinely concerned with quality and seems as passionate with his creation as he was back in the day.
Love all the new designs except for the Bear. I'll reserve my judgement about Monaka until we know if he has a transformation/mutation. My main problem with the bear is not so much the fact that he's just a silly giant yellow bear (Beerus is also just a humanoid purple cat and his design is one of the best in the franchise) but the blandness and lack of detail of his outfit. Take Fat Buu for instance, he looks goofy as fuck but at least his outfit looks original and relatively detailed, add to that his backstory of absorptions and his design becomes much easier to accept. Whereas Fighter Pooh's outfit is literally just a generic sleeveless shirt that only covers his chest. Toriyama didn't even bother to give him trousers.
I'd accept this design if this character was just some semi-final fighter from one of the tournament arcs in original DB. But for what seems to be a Majin Buu-tier warrior it just looks way too lazy and cartoonish (I'm usually against using this type of adjectives to describe AT's designs but this time there's no other way to say it). The same can be said about Monaka's outfit even if he does end up having a mutation.
TL;DR: I'm fine with Toriyama creating a few goofy and minimalistic character designs, as long as he bothers to at least give them creative outfits.
Purple dude is definitely my favorite, it looks like something AT would have drawn in his heyday and it restores my faith in his drawing skills.
Asian Tarble is my second favorite, can't wait to see his personality and backstory. His outfit and lack of scouter seems to indicate that Universe 6 saiyans are less technologically developed than their U7 counterparts. Perhaps in U6 version of the events the saiyans lost the civil war against the tsufurujins and didn't appropriate their technology?
Freeza race guy would be perfect if it wasn't for his face being too much of a Freeza copy-past. Sure he lacks the lipstick and the ears are slightly bigger and don't have holes; there's also some subtle differences in the nose and in the chin and the glass-like thing in the scalp is smaller than Freeza's but overall I feel AT could have added a few more substantial distinctions (maybe changing the eyes and the shape of the horns or adding two extra horns would do the trick). As for the rest of the body, it looks perfect as it is. I'd love if that Goku line in FnF about how Freeza "would make a great rival if he wasn't so evil" was foreshadowing for this character but I'm not holding my breath.
I also dig the robot.

I'd like it if they will use some of the unused designs from BOG,like Beerus' lizard design and Yamamuro's Super Saiyan God design. They could use it for another Hakaishin and for Kabe.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
You know all that thing about this tournament make me hyped, but I wonder... Will we have a bigger tournament in the future? With fighters and Hakaishins from the other universes?
