Well, lemme tell you about my nationwide search for Budokai Tenkaichi 3. I happened to traveling a lot for a few months, so I stopped at every Gamestop along the way, sometimes even out of my way, to find it. I went to Kentucky, 3 places in Virginia, Indiana, Missouri, North Carolina, and finally 4 spots in Tennessee. I finally found it at a Gamestop in another city in Tennessee. I think that might have helped me enjoy the game more.

A month later I found a copy at a store a mile away from my house. I screamed on the inside.

I recently went through a bit of hell to get these Dragonbox sets, let me tell ya!

Firstly, I ordered Dragonbox 3 & 4 from Target.com, it was suppose to be here the beginning of last month around the 6th, if I remember correctly. I go onto Target.com the day that the items were suppose to be in my hands, low & behold they've been pushed back damn near close 'till December!

*ahem* I ordered from Walmart.com & Bestbuy.com and got both Dragonboxes in 'less than a week.

I almost forgot to mention, I also ordered Dragonball Season 4 & 5, finishing up my Dragonball series.

Those are my most recent purchases.

Nope, same old tankōbon ending, mostly in color. If it used the kanzenban ending I would have made sure the whole world knew.

Hmm. They really should have put all the color pages of the final chapter.

The final original chapter was only released in color in the original shonen jump magazine and then in Daizenshuu 2, and never in English obviously.

I know a lot of you were excited for the Kanzenban ending, like me, but the original chapter in color is much rarer than the Kanzenban ending. The Kanzenban ending is included in every Kanzenban release. The Japanese Kanzenban release, the French Kanzenban release, the Spanish Kanzenban release, etc. Its relatively easy to come by. But the original final chapter in color is only in the original shonen jump magazine and in Daizenshuu 2 like I said, which went out of print many years ago and there are no versions of these two in other languages as far as I know. Which makes it very, very difficult to come by.

Of course, we can argue that the final Kanzenban chapter brings us most of the color pages of the original ending just like they were presented in the original chapter, which is true. In fact, the only pages exclusive to the original final chapter are pages 17 and 18. So, the true rarity of this original chapter is in fact these two pages. However, page 18 is not as rare as page 17. Page 18 (where Toriyama says goodbye and thanks the reader) is included in Daizenshuu 1, which has translations in others languages, including a release by Viz. So, the true, true, rarity of the original final chapter is page 17.

Unfortunately, this is where the Vizbigs come up short. The Vizbigs don`t fully succeed in bringing us this rarity because they leave two of the color pages of the chapter without color, and one of those left out without color is one of the exclusive pages of the original ending (page 17), the most rare one. We already had page 18 due to the release of Viz`s Daizenshhu 1 (and its translation).

So... The Vizbigs didn`t bring us anything really rare, but it does have most of the final chapter in color. That is always good.

Thanks to Greenman, I can now state the full statistics of the color pages in the Vizbig releases:

Fully colored pages ( 51 out of 79 = 65% kept )
Red and Gray Scale pages ( 182 out of 305 = 60% kept )
Combined color pages ( 233 out of 384 = 61% kept )

Fully colored pages ( 62 out of 86 = 72% kept )
Red and Gray Scale pages ( 204 out of 252 = 81% kept )
Combined color pages ( 266 out of 338 = 79% kept )

Fully colored pages ( 113 out of 165 = 68% kept )
Red and Gray Scale pages ( 386 out of 557 = 69% kept )
Combined color pages ( 499 out of 722 = 69% kept )


As soon as I get my hands on my copy of DBZ Vizbig 9 I will do my full review on the whole collection, like I did in the DB Vizbig Collection.

PS: there are quite a few color covers which are not in color in the Vizbigs, but almost all of them are in Viz`s Daizenshuu 1, for whoever may be interested.

No. The release date is November 9. But some places are already selling it.
