It's obvious Gohan ends up agreeing, so I'm glad they are giving it some depth. Gohan isn't confident in his skills anymore, so I think it's gonna take some pep talk to get him to join, similar to the Cell arc where Goku says Gohan can beat anyone if he puts his mind to it. I'm also gonna take another guess and say Goku personally gives him one of his old Gi's.

Vegeta must be busy with bulma, so Gohan is the next logical choice, and then Mr Buu, but Mr Buu can't because of some BS, so he picks Piccolo or Krillin.

I would imagine Universe 9 would be Universe 7 first opponent. If 9 was just a test then what new could they offer at the tournament if the viewers already know who the fighters are, their powers, etc.

Yeah, I can see while the fighters are selected the deities of the multiverse will train their fighters to their fullest potential. This way both Zenos and the Grand Priest can setup the tournament and figure out who will fight who.

How could the tournament already be set up along with all the fighters being chosen.

Why would Gohan even be hesitant if he is already apart of the team. This preview makes it seem that the tournament is at random times instead of all at once even though we have seen all the Gods at the arena at the same time.

Maybe the tournament has set dates for each match instead of it being one after another, so there's plenty of break time between each match while the next one is set up.

This arc would go on forever if that happened. I still think that preview card is missing something.

The preview could be saying that Universe 7 already has 8 members and Goku is looking for the last 2 and 1 of them is Gohan. That would make a lot more sense. Episode 79 could then be Universe 7 vs Universe 9.

It could be a set up matches before the big event. allowing for them to introduce a few characters at a time and show us the big ones and the small fries.
Also keep in mind, the previews can be misleading. I still remember when vegito was shown an entire preview and he only lasted 7 minutes on screen.

Gohan isn't apart of the team from what it looks like.

He was one of three shown in the opening and he's Goku's first rival so I wouldn't be surprised if Toriyama has a warm place in his heart for him. I wouldn't be surprised.

I already disliked the omni-king but this makes me despise him even more.
ugh, I'm tired of the ultra-powerful, childish antic trope. Frieza was a whiny brat, Fat buu and Kid buu were/are ultra-powerful toddlers with no real weaknesses at all.
Now the Omni-king of everything just destroys billions, trillions of lives for $h*ts and giggles. I know its fiction, but the idea of that and he's not some type of villainish antagonist that must be stopped makes me sick to my stomach.

Goten and Trunks are there too and we all know they're not part of the main team. This is no different than those other posters that had a menacing looking Monaka who amounted to nothing. Or heck, the first chapter of Super's manga that had Gohan on the cover and he was only there for one panel.

Yeah, I saw that and was like "is that future Trunks?" But no it's Trunks. Imagine if he aged and the artists drew him with blue hair.

Seeing Goten with a Bazooka and Goku with a gun is WAAAYYY better than I imagined it would be and I don't even like weapons or Goku. For some reason I need to see more pics of Goku with gun, something I didn't even know I ever wanted .
Also the 17 rifle is pretty cool too.

Maybe its the idea of cowboy Goku that's doing it.

That poster is not a serious poster, just random artwork by Toyotaro with some characters being rangers becuase of Android 17.

We have already been given the official poster weeks ago.

The big confirmation is that he does not want to fight which really is no surprise and this means he probably won't train or get stronger.

I still think that preview means that Goku has 8 members and is looking for the last 2.

He was one of three shown in the opening and he's Goku's first rival so I wouldn't be surprised if Toriyama has a warm place in his heart for him. I wouldn't be surprised.

More like he's hesitant until he hears the stakes of the tournament. Not sure how you're assuming he won't do anything when he already has been training.
