why you automaticly assume it will be in that episode?

But he preview says Goku is recruiting for 2 allies, if he had 8 people recruited already he would use 2 of them, logically speaking.

It's hard to tell from these previews,but from what's said here, I think you're right.

An idea occurred to me
Toriyama hasn't included gohan for 2 whole arcs, obviously hasn't mentioned him in his notes either or we would get a mention in the manga..
For him gohan hasn't trained or done any fighting since freeza..
It's not like gohan can go higher than SS right now either, he is as good as he was when freeza came for toriyama ( if we keep the ridiculous power scaling of super aside for a min )
Considering that, gohan saying no to a tournament is something totally in character, he never was one for tournaments anyway..
And to top that he can't go full power either because his body can't handle it without training..

It's normal for him to say no, but the thing is, he is still included in the team with his father's gi nonetheless..
Goku himself comes to call gohan, if Gohan's not confident in his training it's completely possible and I dare say compulsory that goku will train him..
That also would make sense why he is sporting his fathers gi..
We just had future trunks train with Vegeta, we need someone other than goku and Vegeta to be around too, gohan is a great option and this is perfect opportunity to execute it too..

I will go ahead and make a prediction goku will train Gohan, I would bet on it too if I hadn't already done one with ChronoTwigger

It's hard to tell from these previews,but from what's said here, I think you're right.

Goku could easily already have 8 and is getting his last 2 allies because he has to have 10.

Sure, but it's always been like this, big guns and other supporting characters..
Everyone will get some shine, even mai did without being the big gun category..
And who's to say one of the two members he is searching isn't piccolo, and they train together, piccolo can use a boost too, Krillin recently got one..
All I am saying is, gohan being included like he is does make most sense to me this way..

Universe 7 needs 10 fighters, 78 will be all about Goku recruiting the first - Gohan apparently, and people think the tournament is about to start? Lol
If anything, that indicates they're taking it slowly. Imagine if every team member gets one episode. Also, this doesn't mean that U9 chose their fighters already, all we know is that Zen'oh set them against U7.

I'm guessing Vegeta will be the last this time, after Bra is born.

Yeah, which is fine. I'd rather they take some time to develop some motivations here rather than throw everyone together like they did with the U6 tournament.

If the match vs U9 is a warmup then Gohan is jobbing but in the tournament Gohan redeems himself and wins, its classic shounen storytelling. Him getting Ikari due to regaining his mystic form would more logical than how Trunks got SSJ Ikari tbh.

I don't think Krillin got a boost. If Goku is only looking for 2 then the other one might be Piccolo but this preview card should hopefully make more sense after episode 77.

Gohan is literally made for SS ikari..
Random extra huge boosts of power because of potential when angry is easy to explain without being a big asspull..

True, but I dont want to expect too much as to them giving Gohan a big break like him getting a new form, thinking of Mystic+SSJB Aura is just.... hypegasm.

It is a load of nonsense some people have made up. It would ultimately be a waste of time if it has no effect on the tournament.

And hence we destroy one universe before the real match..

The warm-up is just a theory at this point though

Reasons for me are:

1. Gives more time for the animators to being ready for the Multiversal Tournament, and not get bunch of fights like Goku vs Botamo.
2. Zeno wants to see Goku fight again.
3. Character interactions, specially Beerus and Whis with the U9 Hakaishin and Angel.

It would be a nice twist if U9 is the Clown group.

If it really is only 3 people, then that means the 3rd guy is probably going to get jobbed unless all 3 go in the ring at once.

So, apparently, Nozawa worked only on the first episode of the new arc (77), and obviously can't talk much about it 'cuz she doesn't know what's going on. That's strange, thought the production was better by now?
