Gohan training with piccolo would've made sense for u6. But I'm not too sure about this arc. Maybe piccolo is smart enough to train gohan to reach his full potential. If not, then the best he could do is get gohan his mystic form back. But by then he would be too strong to spar with piccolo unless he becomes stronger too somehow.

If they do train to together why can't Piccolo be the one to get stronger or both of them get stronger. The training will not be one sided like Whis and Goku is.

The problem with Gohan fans is that whenever he appears in an episode, even for 1 second or appears in any kind of promotional material, they expect Gohan to return to 'form' and become really strong.

The only fans who are safe are of Goku's..

Goku will mostly likely lose some battles just like the others and then we will have the Goku fans raging just like when he lost to Frost.

That image is from the opening though. We've already had a Gohan/Piccolo training scene in one of the previous endings so I don't see the issue here.

The reason gohan fans are like that is because is has the most potential, so it would seem like a waste not to capitalize on it. Who knows the piccolo and gohan collaboration can work, because they seem like a great duo behind goku and vegeta.

Well yeah, it's just a promotional still shot Toei is using to hype up the new opening. They sent these images out through their Twitter account and a few Japanese websites to get people excited and have them tune in later today for it.

I think you saw another episode thread, cause when Goku lost people were most surprised than upset, it doesn't even measure the bashing when Piccolo lost to Frost.

There's absolutely no reason why characteres like Gohan/Piccolo or even Krillin shouldn't get to train with Whis.
I mean they are fighting for their universe, right ?
I don't think they are going to win without being trained (except if Toriyama decides that power levels don't matter..).

I would like for all the masters to get involved and help improve the team, North Kai, Supreme Kai/Kibito, Old Kai and Whis.

This Design us really shitty looking on him, right now I am still going with him getting his bang back as ultimate

Honestly? I'm fine with it since he's at least back in his dad's gi and in shape again... and relevant at all to begin with.

I havent been in a thread where fans were upset and was bitching about Goku losing, Goku gets his well deserved moments and more, no complains really, only upsets are powerlevel inconsistencies.
While majority of Gohan fans has a habit of making fun of the character rather than disappointment because... well honestly its not surprising anymore, whats surprising is Gohan actually getting a good treatment, we expect the worst for the character tbh

Gohan's redemption has been hinted so much by Toei that I'm actually expecting him to do very well this tournament. He will have his chance to shine, Toriyama too wrote the line about him having more potential than everyone. Maybe he was planning for Gohan's return all this time and purposefully made him the laughing stock of Super? Gohan fans can only hope.

Piccolo was his first teacher after all and its nice when the writers remember to honor that, like they did in Heroes by giving GT Gohan, Piccolo's Demon Clothes when he decides to start training again and transforms into SSJ4.

This. Goku fans weren't really raging from Goku losing lol. More like Piccolo fans were raging when he lost to Frost, and Vegeta fans getting butthurt when he lost to Hit. Regardless, Goku really is a safe bet for this tournament for looking good.
