I think Gohan is gonna lose this match for tension.

I don't see why Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo would be the dream team.
Piccolo is cool but Gohan even without training was stronger than Piccolo in ROF arc.

That's not true. He did want Piccolo because he had no idea Gohan was back to training. When he realized Gohan was training with Piccolo, he tried to replace Piccolo for Gohan.

Goku was willing to take the reborn Kid Buu over Piccolo. Vegeta had to remind Goku that he would be too young.

Vegeta will have no Bra if they don't win. Vegeta is not someone who would put all his trust in others. Especially Buu who he basically called stupid based on the last tournament and Gohan who does not fight. The only way this would make sense is if Goku never tells Vegeta. Regarding Piccolo, I just hope that him 'being on business' means he has been training.

It's really obvious they are making Buu and Gohan fight because everything that happened in the U6 arc with them, pretty sure this is a Toei thing and no universe will be wiped out yet.

Why would they wanna do such a bold move? it clearly states the losing universe will be wiped out so there's that too..

Gohan and buu are fighting in survival arc already, there's no need to make up for their absence by adding filler tournament

Because it is an exhibition match and not the real tournament, if U9 is wiped out now then they wouldn't psrticipate in the tournament.

Gohan was definitely part of the dream team during the Boo saga. He was one of the 3 chosen to go into Babidis ship and he ended up becoming the strongest. Even in the Freeza saga, Gohan had the third biggest role.

The difference isn't big, both serves to show something, in this case it's a fight before the actual tournament, It will be much different if it says this is a classification match or something, but if it is only to show Zeno how Goku and co fight then there isn't any sense in destroying the losers's universe, and it doesn't clearly say the losing universe will be wiped out, not with that question mark at least.

Piccolo was not there until Frieza because of Gohan

Everyone who is not Goku and Vegeta look at Piccolo when danger happens and he has this big presence.

Overall, Gohan does not deserve this status and to me it doesn't feel right if Gohan is in a top team instead of people like Piccolo, Krillin and Tien due to him not liking to fight.

So Universe 9 is a bunch of wolves, so...Universe Canine? :V Even though they're probably the weakest if not weaker of the fighters, I kind of like we got some anthropomorphic characters that are somewhat capable of fighting Goku, Gohan, and Buu besides some of the Gods of Destruction. It's different. No doubt they're probably gonna get thrashed, but it's expected.

I think as mentioned, Buu is probably laughing because he's reminded of Bee, but we'll see.

There has to be a point to the exhibition matches, it's probably to have goku and Zeno's relationship go bad so the real tournament is actually a big risk
