My apologies. I just saw no reason to attempt a meaningful discussion with Gotham22 when we had already discussed the semantic discrepancy between "suspended" and "cancelled" a few pages ago.VegettoEX wrote:We've been over this, and we all agree with each other. Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Low budget solution:
Remastered in 1080p HD: Orange Bricks
Widescreen or Fullscreen: Widescreen (more suitable for today's TVs but.. it was shown a 4:3 version of Franko's remaster so to be consistent the 4:3 would be just fine)
Colours accurate: Orange Bricks / Levels / Original Japanese Broadcast
Music: Original Japanese (Shunsuke Kikuchi) / American (Nathan Johnson + Faulconer Productions)
Languages: English 5.1 & Japanese Mono.
Subtitles: English
It's all done so what's stopping them?

Yeah, really!VegettoEX wrote:Their conscience.dbboxkaifan wrote:It's all done so what's stopping them?
But seriously, that is the reason. That's kind of the reason they remastered the series again for the Blu-Rays, instead of just releasing the bricks.
Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Then just have them do another printing of their Z DBoxes along with 2.1.VegettoEX wrote:Their conscience.dbboxkaifan wrote:It's all done so what's stopping them?

Well, there's only so many times you can release the series before the fans say "I've got it already"... it's not like it's Star Wars where it's just 6 movies. We're talking 291 episodes and a significant investment of time and money for most of us fans.AgitoZ wrote:Then just have them do another printing of their Z DBoxes along with 2.1.

The difference here being that a figurative ton of fans missed out on Dragon Boxes 1-4 because of the limited pressing. Everyone would benefit from another pressing, other than the people selling DBoxes 1, 2, and 4 for $150-200 each on eBay and Amazon right now.ect5150 wrote:Well, there's only so many times you can release the series before the fans say "I've got it already"... it's not like it's Star Wars where it's just 6 movies. Oh I think they will start from the beginning again. A whole new production with new pacakging, number of episodes. . They probabaly dump the "level" title and just call them season sets.Beji wrote:So when they hopefully eventually come out with the blu-rays again do you think they will restart from the beginning? The more important question I had is do you think they will come out in the same type of packs as the level sets did? So that if someone already bought 1.1 and 1.2 they can not buy the first pack of the new blu-rays and start off from where they left off? Or will there be overlap? More clearly would the hypothetical new Blu-rays have a set that goes from episode 35 to- or would they do something awful like make each volume 36(or 42) episodes and you would HAVE to get the first set?VegettoEX wrote:however, if and when they decide to do so, the production methods will be different from what they did in 1.1 an 1.2.

"Collection" like One Piece or "Ultimate Collection", UC wouldn't really work well, so Collection would do just fine.Gotham22 wrote:Oh I think they will start from the beginning again. Season sets could come afterwards.
15 Collections, each with 26 episodes and 4 discs on BD/DVD format.

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
I've always thought the sub fans were in the minority, so I question how many fans really missed out. That said, another small printing of them would help make up for the back-lash of the cancellation. Although I'm betting they will just try to release another Box (either the DBox Movies, DB-Box or GT-Box). You know how it goes, for whatever reason, GT always seems to get the better treatment.Corporate_Nothing wrote:The difference here being that a figurative ton of fans missed out on Dragon Boxes 1-4 because of the limited pressing. I hate to say it, but I'd buy the GT Box... I've never seen GT (or are the green bricks out there good enough?)

They should use the Saiya-Jin arc as a base for episodes for each release.dbboxkaifan wrote:"Collection" like One Piece or "Ultimate Collection", UC wouldn't really work well, so Collection would do just fine.Gotham22 wrote:Oh I think they will start from the beginning again. I would like to see golden/shiny packaging and a star resembling the dragonballs and character to go with it, that'd be nice for packaging^^

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Now that someone has revived this topic, wouldn't a petition or send FUNimation emails to release the Complete First Season on Blu-ray help to make it happen?
Episodes 001 to 039 are up on 360's Zune Marketplace all in 1080p HD, so even though it's a cancelled edition I'd still like to own the whole Z Saiyan arc in 1080p HD.

Collector's Edition would work, but it's the price they have to iron out for a quality release. If the Level sets were 40-50 we'd still probably see them shipping, 24.99 was too low.dbboxkaifan wrote:"Collection" like One Piece or "Ultimate Collection", UC wouldn't really work well, so Collection would do just fine.Gotham22 wrote:Oh I think they will start from the beginning again. That's why the MSRP was set at 34.98.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:...24.99 was too low.

They probably just released it too soon as well. Fans needed a little bit of a breather. First we got the Singles, then we got the UUE, then we got the Orange Bricks, then the DBox, then the BluRays.AgitoZ wrote:That's why the MSRP was set at 34.98.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:...24.99 was too low.
It's like Street Fighter 2. First it was SF2, then SF2-Champion Edition, then SF2-Hyper Fighting, then Super Street Fighter 2, Super SF2 The Tournament Battle, Super SF2 Turbo, Super SF2 X Grand Master Challenge (yes, these are all different editions if you never heard of them). Then Capcom wondered why people didn't take to SF3 when it came out.
It's the same with FUNI (almost) and it's a shame, because the quality was nice.

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
I get your point, but Super Street Fighter II X: Grand Master Challenge is just the Japanese name for Super Turbo, and Super Street Fighter II: The Tournament Battle was only for tournaments, as the name suggests (and wasn't even sold individually for home ports; it was included as an extra mode on the SNES and Genesis ports of Super).ect5150 wrote:It's like Street Fighter 2. Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Is it a challenge FOR Grand Masters or are you CHALLENGING Grand Masters? This is important.
I've been finding that the good thing about Funi's domestic releases was there was a chapter that you could skip to after the episode recap as opposed to the Dragonbox where you needed to manually fast foward. I might have dropped a few bucks on theese for that alone.

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
FUNi pretty much copied the same chapter stops as the original Dragon Box. That's how they are, Intro/recap/bumper/outro/NEP. It's very annoying in the movies set! Each movie has about 4-5 chapters.Akumaito Beam wrote:Is it a challenge FOR Grand Masters or are you CHALLENGING Grand Masters? This is important.
