Based on the preview I think Goku will be shocked as well. He's not that ridiculous.

Thats what got me worried, the prev foreshadows Goku actually being affected in some way, we all know the prev hides a lot of things and sometimes do the opposite.

There's no way Toei writes Goku, that's a very generalized statement. Toei has a set of scriptwriters and each one has their own specific interpretation of Goku's personality (which sometimes may be affected due to Toriyama's outline or context provided by previous episodes written by other writers, but this doesn't negate that Goku's personality is unique depending on the writer in charge).

I agree. Much better to just die in blazing glory, than to continue on into humiliation and mediocrity. At least that's how I'd always prefer it with characters.

Being a fan of other characters doesn't really matter in comparison to your favorite though. I'm pretty much a fan of every fighting character in the show besides for Piccolo and Chiaotzu. I don't really care if they don't look good this arc though. I do care if Gohan does though. You're right about never understanding because you'll never have to understand what it's like because Goku's the main character.

You know, I watched other shows besides Dragon Ball and I have favorites who gets almost scene time. For example, my favorite character in Naruto is Jiraiya and he got killed off and didn't even return as a zombie. Another one of my favorite characters, Ace from One Piece, and I shouldn't have to tell you what happened to him. Be grateful that your favorite is still alive for you to enjoy in some way.

word I really don't care if piccolo gohan or krillin loses as long Vegeta don't interrupt or they don't get jobbed like a gag but if they had a legit battle I'm OK with it

That's why I want to be hopeful that Tomioka handles Gokû's reaction in an adult way to the Omni Kings killing the losers.

The only one who really seems to go off the rails with Gokû is Toshio, imo.

One things is anger caused by something so close to him as his wife and child (even though they're from another timeline) and other is retrospection and remorse by one acts.
I mean, I expect he'll be shock, yeah, but something like his reaction to Gohan getting beat up by Cell is way too far from what we've seen so far in Super.

Semantics.
The personality of Super's Goku is pretty specific and well established despite the number of writers. Yeah, there may be scenes that someone adds or little quirks here and there, but saying that there is a unique personality for each writer is a little bit of a strech.
