Gohan fans shouldnt lose hope, in the NEP Daishinkan seemed upset, probably at Buu for not taking things seriously(kinda hinting Buu might lose), if Buu loses then Gohan is definitely winning.

I think everything we are seeing about Gohan in this arc suggests this will be the arc where he regains his power. I actually think he will be the one to find some new transformation instead of it being Goku or Vegeta. Simply because he does his best when there is real danger at stake. This time he has to do something or his whole family could be erased!

I think that will properly motivate Gohan. But we won't see it for many more episodes.

I think the smile suggests Boo is most certainly going to win. This guy is nothing to him. He is having fun. He will probably supremely overpower him next episode.

I never said he would, hence "the NEP suggest Buu's unwillingness to properly fight is irritating them". I was responding specifically to the idea of a universe being destroyed for LOSING. Based on the Grand Priest's words, that won't be the case. However, now that I think about, I understand what you mean. Zeno is the final authority and who knows how he feels. So, you're right in that you can't assume anything. I made the mistake in assuming an all powerful childlike God cares about keeping his word.

I agree. If there's no method to his madness he may very well destroy the loser. He may destroy the winner and loser for not finding the fight interesting. He might even find the fight interesting and still destroy both the winner and loser for no other reason than he feels like it. In the sense that any and everything is possible, you're correct. They should win just to be safe.

No, we know from the Shounen Jump preview of the next episode that Boo laughing at Basil's attacks excites Zeno. It was Gohan who was urging Boo (probably because he's playing around and losing, not because he's angering Zeno), Nozawa's voice makes that clear, Goku just talked about Basil and read out the title of the next episode.

Maybe so, but Boo is hard to actually defeat since even when obliterated into smoke he can reform. It took literally everyone to defeat him and even fat Boo who is considerably weaker still has the benefits of being essentially magic.

Gohan wouldn't make that face because he was about to fight. If anything, the moment where he puts his fist and hand together is the moment where he's about to fight. I think he's shaking because of the power of Basil's transformation.

Yeah that's actually pretty good set up for Gohan. Either that or he just about wins but either way it's a tough fight and he comes to that conclusion.

I am curious how long until the actual tournament starts. I assume it's probably gonna be a few episodes between the preliminary and when the actual tournament starts out verse bur in verse wonder how long it'll be.

I think Gohan is nervous because Zeno will do something. Probably kill Basil, because Universe 9 team is scared too.

The way Buu vs Basil might go:

Basil kicks Buu around for a while, but Buu doesn't actually take any damage
Zeno finds Buu boucing around funny in the beginning but later he starts getting bored it.(Cue U9 Hakaishin and Rou sweating in fear in the NEP and Daishinkan being upset).
Mr Satan offers a big amount of chocolate to get Buu to take the fight seriously
Basil attacks Mr Satan(that explains why we saw Mr Satan clothes being shredded in one of the spoiler Pics)
Buu gets mad, and he starts beating the hell out of Basil.
