Re: Dragon Ball: Game Project Age 2011 (Pre-Release Discussi
How could you pass on seeing that HUGE oozaru? Even if it IS a cutscene [sadness if it was JUST from the opener] we haven't had characters THAT big since Baby Oozaru Vegeta in the train wreck of Final Bout.
Re: Dragon Ball: Game Project Age 2011 (Pre-Release Discussi
The Oozaru in the Sparking! games were pretty big... but it's been a while since I played, so my memory might not be as on the mark a s others...

They were slightly sizey but in NOOOOO way as big as they were in the show, and they were so boxy and un-fierce looking and slow and just all around ridiculous.

Quite easily if you think about the last two mediocre titles Spike put out.LeprikanGT wrote:How could you pass on seeing that HUGE oozaru?

Seems there is a lot of sites pasting the link I provided a few days ago. (Even on gamefaqs.)
I've asked the OP of that Chinese forum regarding the issue and this is our correspondance (so far).
This is a translation of that conversation..
tinlunlau (that's me): I've sent this post to other English language forums about the matter. Everyone seems to find the Kinect compatibility to be very question. If it is true, I'd like to know the source of all this. Thanks!
Fat Doggy: It's no surprise that this is all in question. Normally, if it's compatible with the Kinect, then it should be compatible with the PS Move as well. The Kinect compatibility didn't come from any official source. In fact, when Shonen Jump announced the development of this game, it was only mentioned that it is "3D compatible". But I also remembered there were rumours spreading through twitter and facebook that the next game will have full body control. Then a Namco-Bandai press-con had officially announced a new game coming out. I had only found out through (some?) site. At the time, they reported that there will be Kinect compatibility. So just as the recent announcement of "Modern Warfare 3", this isn't official confirmation until the upcoming E3. We'll have to wait until E3 to receive confirmation. There is no further word at this current moment. You can check sites like Saiyan Island. I believe they've been covering on the latest word regarding these manga-based video games.
So there you have it! 3D Compatibility = Very most likely, Kinect/Move support = unconfirmed speculation.

Well this, and the fact that giant or not Oozarus have been in previous games. It's hard to get excited for this ALL OVER AGAIN.Taku128 wrote:I don't buy video games based on the size of character models.LeprikanGT wrote:How could you pass on seeing that HUGE oozaru?
Spike has done nothing to improve the series (in fact they have taken steps back) and really I'm sick of their bullshit. They put on a new coat of paint and expect people to get excited over characters we've already seen in previous games. Oh cool, they added Oozarus; what is this 2005?
I'm sorry for hating on a game that isn't even close to coming out yet but looking back on the past 6 years I'm sure nothing is going to change. It's going to be the same crap under a different name. Oh well.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?
Re: Dragon Ball: Game Project Age 2011 (Pre-Release Discussi
Just bought a PS2 today to (mostly) play BT3, my favorite DB game.
I wonder if further news of this 2011 game will make me regret my purchase. We'll see in the upcoming days, as news and characters roll out.

Re: Dragon Ball: Game Project Age 2011 (Pre-Release Discussi
For sincere curiousity, can someone who WANTS this Kinect ready explain to me just how all of the controls could possibly work?
Do they mean 3D as in glasses or 3D as in 3D tvs?

Well, obviously, the folks at Namco-Bandai are gonna have this 3DTV compatible.LeprikanGT wrote:For sincere curiousity, can someone who WANTS this Kinect ready explain to me just how all of the controls could possibly work?

Personally, I doubt this will be Kinect/MOVE compatible.

I don't think so, because it definitely looks like his older self. I could be wrong, though.Wobbuffet wrote:Wasn't his alternate outfit based on his manga colors?Animefreak1325 wrote:In Tenkaichi 3, Piccolo Daimao's alternate costume makes him look like he's his older self, so I think that's what Jaruka meant.

I agree until they prove otherwise with future updates.SparkyPantsMcGee wrote: Spike has done nothing to improve the series (in fact they have taken steps back) and really I'm sick of their bullshit. Nowhere in the Weekly Jump announcement does it say that the game is 3D compatible. Nowhere at all. We translated the entire page, so read for yourself.
That "3D Action/Fighting" listed in the description box? That's not "3D" in the sense of "Oh, look at my fancy new TV that lets me put on crazy goggles to see things coming out at me." It means "This game uses polygons instead of sprites."
Go look back at the "Raging Blast 2" announcement -- it also says "3D fighting".
C'mon now, folks!

I feel like the best description of this (from what's known thus far) is that it's a 'spiritual successor' to... uhh, Sparking! or Raging Blast or whatever. I find it completely strange that they refer to "Tenkaichi" and not "Raging Blast". O_o
I wonder if this means they're going back to a 'quantity over quality' mindset?

I think they're just going back to the Tenkaichi control type.Thanos wrote:I feel like the best description of this (from what's known thus far) is that it's a 'spiritual successor' to... uhh, Sparking! or Raging Blast or whatever. I don't think they ever left that mindset.Thanos wrote:I feel like the best description of this (from what's known thus far) is that it's a 'spiritual successor' to... uhh, Sparking! or Raging Blast or whatever. I find it completely strange that they refer to "Tenkaichi" and not "Raging Blast". O_o

What they need to do is seperate the punches from the kicks and have them on different buttons that alone would add much more depth to the fighting.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

I see what you're saying, but I think it'd be better to keep it the way it is (it works better). Just make hand-to-hand more direction based.goku the krump dancer wrote:What they need to do is separate the punches from the kicks and have them on different buttons that alone would add much more depth to the fighting.

What do you mean? Are you talking about like how on Ultimate Ninja Storm the fighting is done with one button but depending on the direction of the analog stick the combo will change?mysticboy wrote:Just make hand-to-hand more direction based.
