Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
In relation to the Saiyan norm, Gine doesn't wear that much. Come to think of it, Bardock's team doesn't either, but that's besides the point. I guess the lower class you are, the less you get to wear?
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
There's no need to waste any more resources on dispensable trash than necessary. That's what Saiyans with higher ranking would think, at least.

I'd be willing to agree if this wasn't a pattern. Goku really bothers him. That much is clear in the numerous threads where he has VERY strong words about Goku.Bansho64 wrote:No, he's explaining his thoughts thoroughly and clearly.ABED wrote:Or you getting too upset about a fictional character.

That's just the way he feels, I guess. And his criticisms do got a lotta merit.ABED wrote:I'd be willing to agree if this wasn't a pattern. Goku really bothers him. That much is clear in the numerous threads where he has VERY strong words about Goku.

Why isn't Hidenori Arai working on Super? Dragon Ball anime just doesn't feel the same without his iconic sound effects.
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
As TFS brilliantly summed it up "Bitch you're lucky you're endearing!". That's actually what bothers me most about Goku and how people perceive him, he can do the most absolutely terrible things for purely selfish reasons but since he's being endearing about it, it's somehow fine. The in-universe characters such as Old Kai, after chastising him for being a stupid Saiyan in the Boo arc, suddenly consider him a great guy despite him trading universe breaking blows with Beerus purely for his own entertainment.ABED wrote:I'd be willing to agree if this wasn't a pattern. If people in and out of universe liked Goku in spite of him clearly being a selfish person, this might not bother me as such but a guy who basically makes all of his and everyone else' efforts & sacrfices in stopping the Saiyan invasion in vain by letting Vegeta go and threaten the world again is not an endearing or stand up guy: he's a prick.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
It's not remotely a show based in the real world and fiction doesn't require the characters to be paragons of virtue, they just need to be interesting.
Goku might be a prick, but no one in the group did differently. Piccolo, Yamcha, Kuririn, Tenshinhan, and even Gohan were fine with Goku's ideas. Who cares if he's a prick? Is he interesting? I see no reason to be this irritated by a fictional characters skewed sense of morality.

He's dedicated to One Piece now. It's likely he doesn't have the time to handle two weekly series efficiently. However, I'm not sure why they started from scratch with the sound effects.Kakarotto92 wrote:Why isn't Hidenori Arai working on Super? Trunks has guns here. GUNS. I wonder why that wasn't included in the series itself (or the rest of this image, for that matter).

That drawing probably was only a one-shot call back of when Bulma had used guns in her youth during Dragon Ball. Also, I vaguely remember at least one of the villains Mr. Piccolo kills in DBGT bore a similar design to those Aliens.Anime Kitten wrote:

What's the chronology of Roshi's backstory? Did he train with Karin before or after the whole Daimao mess? Perhaps he even trained with Karin before Mutaito?

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Guys, I have an important announcement to make: I, Faded Dreamorz the 5th, shall hereby no longer go into Super episode threads and compare it to DBZ. I renounce my ways. I shall now take Super for what it is and shift my focus away from its lack of attention to detail, contradictions, inconsistent characterizations, ridiculous power scaling, and nonsensical concepts (within context of DBZ). Instead, I will proudly bash it for every other flaw it has, and praise it for the moments it manages to entertain, as a stand alone series. Today is a day to rejoice indeed. : )
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super
Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Turtle Hermit was Mutaito's student in AGE 448. He trained with Karin around AGE 450-453. Piccolo was sealed by Mutaito in AGE 461. This is the reference.nickzambuto wrote:What's the chronology of Roshi's backstory? Did he train with Karin before or after the whole Daimao mess? Perhaps he even trained with Karin before Mutaito?

Well, you shouldn't it's not a problem you know? It's normal to compare the two series: Z (the most sucessful anime series) and Super (the current running anime series)fadeddreams5 wrote:Guys, I have an important announcement to make: I, Faded Dreamorz the 5th, shall hereby no longer go into Super episode threads and compare it to DBZ. I don't think that's the kind of thing we can discuss about here.Noah wrote:I have one for this thread:

Re: Non-thread-worthy discussions
Hey, can someone here make a video for me? If it's not too much trouble, I'd wanna see an edit of the Mexican dub audio paired with the video quality of the Level Sets. I'm not asking for, like, a whole episode. I'd just like to see it for one scene. Maybe the Makankosappo or the Kaioken?
I currently don't have the materials to do such an edit and upload it to YouTube. So, I figured that some of the real technical video and audio editors could do it. I know many here like that sort of stuff, and I'm probably asking for a lot here, but I thought it wouldn't be any harm to ask.

If Piccolo was wearing weights to train on Kaio's planet, and could move around with them pretty comfortably even under 10x gravity, then after getting an exponential power multiplier from fusing with Nail, the clothes should have been virtually weightless. Saiyans arc Goku wouldn't be slowed down by the clothes he wore at the 23ed Budokai, after all. Piccolo increasing his power against Freeza by removing those clothes implies they had been restricting him, so Kami knows how he was moving and flying around before even fusing with Nail.
