Hopefully they put it to good use and give us an actual fight between Vegeta and Black this time around.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

I am a sucker for consistent art and yes!!! Finally, the episodes look and feel good in terms of art!!! Even that brief transformation of Black was superb.
Breaks saved Super.

Was Black's transformation bank animation re-designed from Goku's transformation from the super water arc?

Episode 59

2nd key animator

Late again this week. Was so exhausted that I just passed out right after the episode aired. Glad there wasn't anything too noteworthy to talk about. I hate missing out on the excitement!

Really enjoyed this week. Probably Ishikawa's most consistent episode since way back in episode 2, I'd say. As others have already noted, having a pretty normal number of key animators is really reassuring and definitely shows. I'll be 100% happy when I see the 2nd KA credit vanish with no visible effect on the quality of the episode. That's when we'll know we're at 100% normality.

I love that I'm slowly building up a library of this shot. Here's the version from this week. Yokoyama's drawing is still winning for me!

I was a little disappointed that Zamasu_delete.exe wasn't executed with hand-drawn animation. Never been a big fan of the CG effects they always seem to use for Beerus' moves. A nitpick, but it stood out to me in what was otherwise a very fine episode.

Very excited for next week. Those gorgeous thick lines are doing all kinds of things to me. Kinoshita's worked on the series several times before, but I'm assuming this will be her first time working solo. If it is, then I'm gonna guess that my favourite parts of episode 23 were actually her and not Ishikawa. Mainly because they never really looked like him and they also had super nice thick lines.

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see whether it offers more than just nice character art. The actual snippet of fighting looked pretty awkward in the preview. Hard to judge based on what was probably only two seconds, but we'll see!

I agree that it would've been better to have some actual animation when he died, but at least they utilized the effect in a cool way.

With each week I grow more and more concerned that Yoichi Onishi is gone for good. We've got some action heavy episodes coming up, so hopefully he shows up as a second supervisor on one.

Everyone in the rotation has shown up at least once for a second time so far. He only showed up in #49, looks like he is gone. I wonder if Kinoshita Yui is the replacement. Before she was only with a main supervisor, now her name was listed in the staff rotation.

I don't know if Onishi has left, but he just worked as an AD on Amanchu.

Could just be taking a break or could be gone for good. Hard to say. We also thought Toma was gone at one point, but he returned.

It's not abnormal to work on several series at once if you're not an 'A-team' supervisor.

Hey, Mr. Ajay, do you happen to have the other shots I requested last page? I ask because you've given some before, but if not, that's fine too.

- The shot of Kaiōshin by himself shortly after
- The NEP shot of Black and Zamasu
Thanks in advance!

The pan of the three is parallaxed, so trying to stitch that together is a lot of effort. I'm not at home to attempt it properly, but I'm sure someone else can take a shot at it.

Hope these will do in the mean time.

Is it too early to hope that Shida is working on that upcoming Vegeta episode?

I'd rather have him do the finale. I heard he's a really slow animator, and episode 63 is only 7 weeks after his other big cut that was fairly unpolished by his standards.

As long as his cut involves Vegeta then sure I wouldn't mind that. I just want him to do a cut with Vegeta.

After this most recent break the schedule should hopefully be around 9 weeks maximum(10 if we're really lucky), so hopefully Shida is able to take advantage of that.
Shida's cut will hopefully be around episide 65 or later.

For episodes 62 and 63 I am really confused on who the next supervisors could be. I can't think of any more regulars that would handle a big fight episode besides Tate, Karasawa, or Manabe, all who have had episodes fairly recently. Could it just be possible that Onishi or someone else does 62 and then they let Tate do 63?

Maybe one of them is back and a lot of animators will be used, in the recent episodes only a few animators worked on it, they might be saving all the staff for these episodes.
When are Shimanuki and Toma's next episodes?

I know Shimanuki is doing 61, and I think Toma hasn't done an episode for a while. Hopefully he hasn't left.

Toma's last episode was right after Shimanuki's last one.

I wouldn't be surprised if it went something like this
62: Toma
63: Manabe
64: Tate
65: Kitano
66: Karasawa

Assuming none of these guys are paired up and that we're in for some longer action of course.

Nothing too noteworthy this week. I loved the way Beerus caught and twisted Zamasu's hand. That punch kid Trunk's landed on his older self was a little awkward, but everything else held together fairly well.
