I'm getting the feeling this tournament isn't going to last very long and is just going to be a lead in into a new arc.

They can probably switch whenever they want to between matches so each one will get to fight before deciding who get's the purple guy.

I don't think it'll be short but I agree that it'll probably lead into something bigger.

Not really, the teams were announced, but give the nature of the tournament, nothing was confirmed that all of the combatant were gonna fight. Don't get me wrong, I'm disappointed Majin Boo failed the test, but it's not really shocking considering he's, well, not book smart. It'll be really interesting to see how this plays out for me.

Judging from Beerus and Vegeta's reactions, it doesn't really seem like they are getting a replacement, though of course it should be quite easy given they have taxi man Kibito available.
