Would they really give the main characters a clean sweep? Gohan losing would at least make him train harder for the actual tournament. I mean we know Goku is going to win after.

I don't know, all 3 main characters winning in a row seems off to me.

Goku losing would be an embarassment. The guy is so far above Buu and Gohan at this point it's not even comparable.

The person he's fighting at can mimic the power of the guy he's fighting against iirc.

I thought it only said Bergamo can mimic techniques and make them his own? Even if he can do that, it's not all that unique of a trait if it is what I think it is. Goku, Tenshinhan, and Boo all can do that. Though yeah it would be pretty terrible for Goku if he was to lose, but I could see it happening. With that said, I'm pretty confident Goku is going to win his match.

One, Gohan is poison, and two Buu fought a different opponent altogether. So why are you even comparing the two.

If this blue wolf is a match for Goku then it doesn't bode well for the rest of the tournament. You can't have fighters being all on the level of Goku or more or else everyone else is going to lose miserably their first match since they're nowhere as strong.

Do you really want to see Krillin, Piccolo, 18 and 17, Tenshihan, etc. all treated like crap in the tournament? There's got to be weaker fighters. Same reason if Goku loses to this blue wolf, it'd be weird, because it's basically saying he's a top tier fighter on the level of Hit and Super Saiyan Blue.

Or goku starts in base without powering up at all like he usually does but is caught off guard by Bergamo's special abilitiy..

It will show how good the rest of team Universe 7 are. We don't know the rules yet either and I would bot be surprised if they beat someone of Hit's tier due to the tournament setting.

With what happened in the DBS manga I wouldnt rule out Gohan being killed by Lavenda, they could revive him with the dragon balls, and also Gohan dying would serve as movitation for Goku to trash the hell out of Bergamo.

A lot of us thought it would be the bald dude because of the color, I did say maybe it was Toppo after his bio came out but part of me saying that was a joke, didnt know it would turn out that way haha.

That feels like uncesscary padding more than actual motivation. Why can't Gohan win and still train for the tournament?

Ok in the NEP we saw SSJ Gohan going RIGHT through Lavendas poison mist, I think that could be the main reason Gohan loses, he inhales too much poison, passing out in the process.
