He stops his breath and kicks the poison out of lavenda

Yes, it was since they made him bulkier than he was in the trailer.
Well, I still think his 'beta' design was better, shame they didn't keep with.

Not only the size, but the proportions. Longer arms and broader shoulders match Toppo more than the Grey Alien. That and the whole "may be the next God of Destruction" thing on DB Super's website.

What matters the most is that Gohan looks good in battle, if he loses via sneak attack or because the poison somehow got inside his body then they would be good endings, its better than getting stomped.

A lot of us thought it would be the bald dude because of the color, I did say maybe it was Toppo after his bio came out but part of me saying that was a joke, didnt know it would turn out that way haha.

I wonder why they decided to change the bald dude to Toppo.
Broly returns was the biggest joke and look what happened :P
Come to think of it super has a tendency to make jokes happen..

Quick! Someone think of an absolute joke situation that can't happen!
Goku and Vegeta gender swap to become woman and use their breasts as weapons!
When Super apparently shoves Goku down our throats:

Happy with the new no ring out rule. This has already vastly improved the U6 arc. Now if we get teams in the ToP proper that would be excellent!

The starting has been pretty good for this arc..
The only complaint I have as of now is why weren't buu's blasts pink?

I would have liked this as well, sadly the rule is only for the Zen exhibition match, Grand priest said they'll properly think about the rules of the power tournament, but hopefully they keep the no ring out rule and anything goes until one drops dead or is unable to fight anymore.

If no Ring out stays, roshi and other weaker opponents are in a pinch here..
But! It will be very entertaining to watch..
I say that's a good trade

I'm a little worried about Toriyama's involvement in this new arc. It seems like this time he probably gave an even more basic outline.
I guess that this time, Toyotaro himself wrote most of the plot (both for manga and anime) basing on a few plot points by Toriyama, who just supervised Toyotaro's plot and then approved it. This means it's quite possible the LSSJ girl was Toyotaro's idea.

This is just my theory and we might never know whether I'm right or not, but we got no comment by Toriyama for this arc, and we know he's not exactly super-healthy, so this could be the first time Toyotaro is writing/filling in the plot and maybe after this arc the story of DBS will be entirely on Toyotaro's hands? It seems like Toriyama really trusts him, and he might have decided to leave Super into his hands.

I think toyotaro is just helping toriyama with his outlines,I expect DBS manga vol 3 will have an interview to answer this topic.

Nah. I highly doubt Gohan will lose. It'll be a 3 streak win.

Mostly because this'll make U7 the team to beat and watch out for. The other Dieties will realize that this team wasn't just a pushover. Also, guys like their supreme kai are the ones who usually get annihilated.

Ah crap. Well Zen-Ohs seemed to enjoy how nuts that fight went so hopefully they keep the no ring rule or maybe people have two chances or something for a ring out.

The person he's fighting at can mimic the power of the guy he's fighting against iirc.
That's Bergamo's thing, the Toei site has their bios mixed up.
We're talking about Goku though.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Having Goku fight a dude who can copy all his moves should allow for some interesting new abilities to get made up... Ah who am I kidding, he's just gonna power up to win like he did with Hit.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Or maybe...

He'll lose, severing the Omni-king's trust in him. 8)

Or he'll just win easily and make U7 look out to be the overpowered bad guys in front of all the other universes, which would be cool too.

As long as U9 goes boom at the end to show everyone Zeno is serious about his rule, I'll be satisfied.

The thing that is worrysome is that while Lavenda says he might want to kill Gohan, is the match is under Zeno rules which is basically no rules at all.

I can see Rou helping Lavenda like he did with Basil by giving him the drug.

Gohan losing because Lavenda "cheated" wouldnt be bad, it still keeps Gohan being strong. U9 beng written as bunch of cowardly/cheating heels makes sense.

I think Goku is going to have a tougher time with Bergamo then we think.

Bergamo is the oldest and presumable the strongest, with Basil being late Cell saga to early Buu saga in power, he might be very strong. Since his power is Copying fighters moves, the kamehameha, teleportation and even the kaio-ken could be up for grabs as well as Goku's general fighting style. However I also realized Bergamo might also have copyed his brothers moves as well!

Lavenda's poison abilities, Basil's kicking moves and Goku''s techniques all rolled into one is a dangerous combination. Add onto that the Drug Power Boost and you have a very lethal fighter on your hands.

Depending on how strong he is, Goku might not want to mess around to much and might have to use some of his old SS forms to win.
