If you're going to power him up enough to be a threat to Gohan, then there's no point in taking away the SS forms in the first place.

Well I wouldn't be shocked if SSG appeared instead of regular SSJ. I'm pretty damn sure we'll see some form of SSJ. It's Freeza. He's sure to mention the SSJ legend.

I was concerned about the opposite. I worried I wouldn't get to see ssjg Gokû at all and he'd just be using ssj1 and base. I'm not so much worried now that I've seen that hint of magenta light shining on his hair on the 「F」 poster.

I wonder if they'll make Frieza stronger than Beerus was in Battle of Gods. That's usually the trend that the next villain is the strongest yet but the last movie was different in that the heroes didn't surpass the villain thus requiring the next villain to be stronger still, in fact Goku was significantly weaker than him.

So if Goku is a 6 and Beerus is a 10 then maybe Frieza could be an 8.

He surely can't be more powerful than Whis because this time around the heroes will almost certainly beat him at the end and unless we get a Super Saiyan God Vegito I can't them progressing that much.

What I don't get though is this hair-trigger response of 'Worst thing ever!'. We know only a little bit about what this movie is going to entail so far, and yet right away there are people flinging criticism right out of the gate. Rather than give Toriyama the chance to possibly impress you, you just automatically start pointing out his previous follies, and dismiss the entire idea as stupid, as if there's no possible way it could work. Perhaps this is just a different opinion, but for me, there are no bad ideas, just poor execution.

People are quick to judge yes, but the disturbance comes from the anxiety towards the theme of redundancy reusing a character like Freeza off the whim of nothing really progressing the lore.

There are few things this set up could finally clean up which I'd support.
- Vegeta being the one to finally kill him; and in his reformed state of mind since Namek.
- Goku is out of the picture for a while to give Vegeta some room. Then returns to close it up. (Similar to BoG)
- The possibility of Freeza opening the door to a new threat they would need to train for in general from where his power came from.
- Freeza becomes a god of some sort and not still lingering off a loss he had long expired in relevance.

But those are slim and vague. The issue people have is the higher likelyhood that these concepts wont happen. It was also said that Vegeta wasnt going to lead this movie after all if I remember correctly someone said... so that makes this rematch even more pointless. Goku at SSJ1 again going to beat him again?

Yep, could be. I think the blue things in the feet work more like Goten's "socks".

I have a bigger feeling that the blue base is the boot itself, and the black tips are just that. Like Vegeta's white boots with yellow tips. Or the Capsule corp styled boots more closely.

You're misunderstanding me, I don't hate him, I especially see him the 3rd best villain in the series, but I don't like the fact he's brought back again.

Really exited for this movie. My only hope for it is that it doesn't cheapen the events of the Namek saga, which I think has the best story/plot in Dragon Ball. Other than that, I'm totally on board. Hopefully new Freeza material will inspire Nakao to deliver a better performance than he did in Kai...been a while since I saw Kai in Japanese, but I seem to remember the TV performance being a lot better.

It's really great that they are making DB relevant again with these movies. Watching Battle of Gods for the first time definitely took me back in time in a big way. Looking forward to experiencing that feeling again.

Now I see that fanart with Freeza's new form. He definitely looks like a pavian monkey.(he look terrible) I think I already know would would happen if that would be the new form. Freeza will humiliate everyone, but at certain point he will observ his appearance in a mirror and will self-destruct himself, after realizing that he greatly resembles to Saiyans.

I think that Goku does need Super Saiyan, a little. He fought better against Beerus as a Super Saiyan, and Toriyama said that SS2, SS3, and SSGod aren't needed anymore.

RandomGuy's argument was that neutralising Super Saiyan wouldn't do much at this point unless someone was already strong enough for that not to matter.

I'm not sure I understand you correctly, but in the poster, Goku is definitely not in the SSG form.

He didn't say that specifically. This was the interview I think Low Tone G is referring to:

A.: Super Saiyan 2 and 3 are nothing more than powered-up variations of Super Saiyan. After the fight with Beerus, Goku realized that mastering his normal state and Super Saiyan would raise his level more and sap less strength, so I think he probably won’t become Super Saiyan 2 or 3 any more.

I'd like it better if it were red, but it's more pink than red. It'd be funny if Vegeta becomes SSJG and gets blue hair, and Goku gets mad that his was pink.

Goku basically only thinks of fighting as a sporting match, so borrowing the power of five people isn’t fair, and he resisted doing that; however, it seems his curiosity towards the realm that lay even further beyond him won out.

Well it was a bit of both pink and red. Magneta basically. Either way it looked pretty cool in my opinion. From the looks of it Vegeta will likely have blue hair in his God form.

Awesome, no more pink hair. I enjoyed BoG, but the pink hair did make me cringe.
