80 warriors coming from the 8 universes, that's how it was in the video I saw.

Oh It must have said eighty, I probably read the subtitle wrong. Going to have to go back and watch.

Not sure if I'm disappointed or not that everyone will participate at once. Great that Goku challenged the world though and now its everyone at once

Wouldn't that make the arc shorter then ? Or is there another tournament after that one?

I get the feeling now that the Tournament will not be the end of this arc.

This Toppo guy isn't real deal...Goku was fighting without problem against him in preview...And he was a little afraid against SSJ Blue.

Hitto is way more bad ass than all of these guys. I bet that buff grey alien will be the real deal.
But Toppo will be defeated easily.

If Hitto continues improving...I can see in tournament:

Champa: Hitto, you have to fight Toppo!
Hitto: Ok! I defeated him yesterday!
Toppo: Falls and get unconscious.
Vados Sama!

Let me get this right.

This entire tournament is just one match? With all 80 characters fighting at the same time on the same stage and after 48 mins the universe with the most remaining fighters wins the whole thing?

Is that it?

Or until one fighter remains, yes.

The episode was pretty nice. I for one was glad to hear the voices of the other gods! Note that Universe 12 Kaioshin says that the level of the gods must be similarly high which will for sure bring more confusion to the fandom who are still wondering whether mortal level rank means strength or quality of life. I for one think its a mix of the two but that's another story...

Curious about the results of the next episode's fight.

In the episode, one god said something about the guidance of the gods and it's relation to the mortal level. From that I personally think he didn't mean power.
GT wasn't that bad

He must feel awful. Being a God and no one respects him. Just sad.
And Zamasu thought he had it bad. Fuckin' edgy Kaios thinking about "Justice" and shit just because they got strong by chance.

Which is what makes it confusing. That Kaioshin said guidance of the gods and then the other implies that the gods must be on a high level as well. I'm personally just going to stay with it being a mix of them both until we get more clarification.

With the recent announcement of 80 fighters fighting at once a thought occurred to me..

Maybe toriyama is trying to make this everything resurrection F Should have been..

• A battle with everyone involved except the two kids
• Fighting using strategy instead of raw power
• Goku being the main target
• Their home being having a threat of destruction
• SSB not being enough ( The blad guy is fighting on par with SSB )

This leads me to believe freeza's Resurrection will be brought back too, but not in the form of freeza this time but
Zamasu

That's who the threat is gonna be..

Posted this in the #81 thread, but it's relevant to the greater DBS discussion.

Now that we know that the Tournament of Power is one match, this is what I'm hoping for.

We get 11 episodes of the battle. The first 10 episodes tell the story of the battle from the perspective of each fighter from Universe 7. The first perspective we see is that of the first character to be eliminated (for example, Kame-Sen'nin). The 10th episode is Goku's perspective, and it ends with him being up against the guy from Universe 11 he's fighting in the trailer. The 11th episode is their 1 on 1 battle. Because everyone moves so fast, it doesn't matter that the combined "real time" of 11 episodes would be over 48 minutes. However, if you add up the "real time" of both Goku episodes, that ends up very close to 48 minutes (average DBS/Toei anime episode length is 24 minutes), allowing for time gained and lost from "cinematic time" (+ for speed, - for inner monologues, slow-motion action, and spectator reactions).

That may be asking a lot, but I think that'd be awesome.

Also, I'm predicting that Universe 3 Kaioshin built Moscow, but I'm only basing that on the fact that he's wearing glasses (and Moscow doesn't seem to be a Metalman based on his sounds and lights of episode 81).

Yes, It's probably going to be like the last YuYu Hakusho tournament where most of it happens off screen.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

This arc will be at least as long as the last one, so there's no way this arc can be told chronologically. My bet is that we'll get at least one episode per fighter, 2 for some, and a few episodes of teamwork fighting. Either that, or the tournament is only the first part of this arc, which is fun to think about.

From the info we have gotten about the main tournament so far. Hit cannot use his killer techniques just like uni 6 v 7 tournament. He already has a handicap.
