Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
Well see that's my point. I wasn't talking about the mainstream, I'm talking about the people(like us) who go out and buy these games. I'll be the first to admit that if this comes out the same time as X and Y, GTAV, GT6 etc. this going to be at the back of the line for me. And I'm a supporter of this game. Are you really going to drop $60 for this when all of those games are going to be competing for your attention? They would be crazy to release this holiday. If they at least wait until 2014 they'll have a bit of a fighting chance. Especially when again, gamers are in a dry spell.Hellspawn28 wrote:I think we could have it out by November 2013. I'm not worry about games like GTA5, GT6 and Pokemon X & Y over shadowing it since those games are more mainstream and they are going to make more money no matter what. These games are very niche seeing that only people who are fans of the show are the ones who end up buying these games. Sorry but DBZ games lost their mainstream appeal years ago since most casual people on the web say that they stop playing DBZ games after Budokai 3.

If they release it in 2014 then that would mean that 2013 is the only year were we didn't get a console DBZ game. I'm okay by that since there's other things to talk about by then.

What's more, it will be the first year since 2001 without a Dragon Ball Z game release. Hard to believe we've had a nonstop stream of games for the past twelve years running. I never would've dreamed. I remember wondering when Infogrames put a cease and desist on Bid for Power, if they would ever even actually make any games at all. Oh, how little did I know...Hellspawn28 wrote:If they release it in 2014 then that would mean that 2013 is the only year were we didn't get a console DBZ game. Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I don't know how advanced the combat is going to be(but honestly at this point I'm not expecting much). I'd assume we'll see something close to what BT offered; hopefully not RB. If I were doing the controls, that's how I would do it. Using a PS3 controller:
Square: Primary attack
Triangle: Secondary attack
Circle: Ki attacks(or other ki based maneuvers)
X: Block
(so pretty much what we're use to)
L1: "Focus" Essentially it's lock on. So on it's own it will target the closest opponent. Once initally pressed it will stay locked on unless opponent gets to far or pulls a move like Solar Flair. If combined with the left analog stick(locked on or off) you can charge at that opponent. If you were initially locked off it will lock-on than charge forward. Combined with the right analog stick it will switch to another opponent. So, flick left closest left; flick right closest right. Click R3 and you'll just auto switch to the next closest.
L2: Power up. No more using down on the D-pad to power up. Also, if your character has a transformation(super Saiyan for example) clicking the Left analog stick(L3) and L2 together would trigger that transformation. Powering up all the way without transforming would trigger that Kaioken looking thing.
R1: Fly up
R2: Fly down
and like BT if you are charging and press any of the R buttons you'll fly up or down faster.
The d-pad could be used for quick alley commands similar to "attack X" or "use special" or something like that.
Then the obvious, L-stick moves, R-stick operates camera.
That's probably how I would do it.
[edit] Shit, I forgot about specials.
L2 mixed with sqaure and Triangle could enhance attacks and maybe be used in combos but mixed with circle it would do specials. So like BT: L2 and O would just be like a Kamehameha. L2+Up and O would be your second special and then L2+down and O would be you Ultimate.

I'm mostly worried about the gameplay, I can get accustomed to almost any control scheme.supersaiyan DbZ fan wrote:anyone worried of the control scheme?

What type of rating do you think this game will get on most websites? I guess between 4 - 6 out of 10 is possible since DBZ games after Burst Limit either got mixed reviews (RB 1-2 and UB) or terrible reviews (IW and DBZ for Kinect)

Because it's different, I expect most sites to give it at least a 7.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
There's a chance that the controls will be broken or the camera will be a total mess. I'm looking forward to the game, they could find ways to fuck up the game. I'm hoping we will hear more from the Tokyo Game Show soon. If we don't hear anything by then the game might not even be out by this year. No new info in a while is often a bad sign.

You can change colors of the character's outfits which looks cool. For a second, I was worry that we won't see anything for a while again.

Looking at that scan, I don't really think the dev team has a whole lot to show off at the moment and I definitely don't think it's coming out this year. That being said, I think it's also pretty safe to say that this won't just cover Saiyan to Freeza saga.

Okay, looking at the scan closely they seem to be showing ultimates.SSJ6Goku wrote:Great news!!! Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z Scan 8 – Bills, Brolly, Cell, and More

SSJ goku's kamehameha is looking like it's the same as base form, if it's his ultimate. w/e. Could be customizable, or change in newer forms
changing colors seem cool
still cant say I'm hyped though. Not until we actually get some new good gameplay footage(from people who actually are good at the game) that isn't recorded off of another screen like the Japan Expo videos.
Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I believe it's safe to say that all the villains from the movies will be in this movie or at least most of them since Broly and Bills are here, also my hopes of seeing GT characters is higher then ever, I expect we will here about them next!

"There are many types of monsters that scare me: Monsters who cause troubles without showing themselves, monsters who abduct children, monsters who devour dreams, monsters who suck blood… and then, monsters who tell nothing but lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance: They are much more cunning than others: They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they’ve never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such monsters, I would likely be eaten by them… because in truth, I am that monster."
