I prefer it when they do stuff during school, because then I can quote them to my friends for the next whole day.

I still think it's pretty funny how Vegeta escaped being live-action-adapted. I was so morbidly curious about what they would do with him.
On hiatus.

RiffTrax is a website created by the people who did Mystery Science Theater 3000, a show about "riffing", or snarky commentary over, cheesy old movies (mostly old sci-fi B-movies). Years later they decide to continue, but to avoid having to the rights for the movie, they simply throw up a commentary track to purchase. They have a "special helper" to sync up to the DVD and off you go.

The guys at TFS are simply taking advantage of this service, so the same process applies. That being said, those who don't own the movie will have to pick it up to follow along.

So the commentary won't be distributed for free? Not even here?

*Checking the price*

As much as I love TFS I'm still not watching that movie, commentary or no commentary.

That's precisely why ordinary men pursue the concept of perfection, it's infatuation. But ultimately I have to ask myself "What is the true meaning of being perfect?" and the answer I came up with was nothing. Not one thing. The truth of the matter is I despise perfection! If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! Yeah, 1,50 + dvd of movie I didn't like....the commentary seems awesome, but...yeah.

On the other hand, Episode of Bardock Abridged sounds great! Plus, the dvd comes out next month. Being able to see Bardock kick ass in better quality than streaming video AND see an abridged version would make my month :D

Yes, because a dollar fifty is SO MUCH MONEY OMG.

Seriously, no offense guys, but listing the price of the Riff as a point of contention is... well, I wouldn't consider it overwhelmingly compelling.

I'm personally having a rough time deciding between a wacky quote shirt or the commentary. I'd buy both but I'm saving up for an "IN AMERICA" bumper sticker.

Edit

How much does a slightly used copy of Kickassia and a glossy of Spoony (also slightly used) sell for on e-bay?

It's a waste really. Sorry TFS.

I'm sorry mister Tiger Kitty, I for one am poor as fuck, I try my best not to buy superfluous things, even if they are just a dollar fifty. I also refuse to buy anything digital apart from games, I think the concept of paying money for something that isn't physical is a bit ridiculous, at least with games I can enjoy them for days and weeks.

Furthermore, you're charging money for your commentary on a shitty movie that no one wishes to watch, everyone here would be almost doing you a "favour" by watching the movie just to enjoy your funny commentaries, but then you charge for it. And you are surprised by the reactions you're having? Really? Did you expect everyone would just simply pay for it? Just because?
I do understand where you're coming from, but the way you phrased your comment didn't really help your cause much, especially since you used "no offence" defensively instead of meaning no actual offence.

I honestly just didn't think the commentary sample was very funny.

To be honest, I thought the same thing... :?

I think it is kind of unfair to have people pay for it as you have no affiliation with the production itself, which is kind of like stealing but then again, you are not providing the footage at all so...

In all honesty, it is unfair.

Maybe because it's a "sample" and not the whole thing?

It's not unfair. Rifftracks are an original product separate from the original. If it's legal to charge money for a movie review it seems perfectly legal to charge money for an audio review written in parody prose/structure/whathaveyou.

Now, personally I don't want to spend the money buying said Rifftrack, but that's...well, personal. :P
